  1. Only glass left is the front and rear screen. Will ditch the rear screen eventually. Though I am adding weight soon with all the turbo gear and going back to the large case diff. I might get the bonnet and boot fiber glassed too. I actually didn't believe it was only that weight till I drove it onto the scales. What does the Megane weigh?
  2. My E34 535i only weighs 1280kgs wet. I would think it would lose another 150kg's if it was dipped.
  3. As long as they were fitted correctly and the right color. Maybe he means all the people who have Red ones at the moment. Seen quite a few people driving around with just their Red Rice Rings on at night. In a car park at a meet okay. But at night on the road.....
  4. Is there really any difference between aftermarket rice rings and factory rice rings? They would just be considered driving lights wouldn't they.
  5. By the time it is up for sale it will be stuffed. Just like a boat engine you need to drain and clean everything the same day it is submerged.
  6. I should state my shitty 80's Mazda was a Series 3 RX7 I won by accident in an Ebay auction for 70 quid. I ended up just driving it anyway. One day I came home from work to find it was just gone. Stolen, Towed.. Who knows. Who cares for 70 quid.
  7. Will pass on the salt water damaged parts thanks. On my phone I could only see a blonde lady driving and M3. Was wondering if it was Amber. But remembered she has a PPlate on hers. No offence Amber.
  8. Interesting. The Mrs just had this exact problem a week ago. Got the run around from both DHL and NZ Post. Eventually the package just arrived with no update to the tracking ticket at all. It was around 10 working days late. Best to try and use one service door to door. Can cost you an arm and a leg though.
  9. If you are on a work visa or the likes you need to pay in full up front. It its around 4x more expenisve. For a 1980's heap of crap Mazda they wanted 1000 quid up front. The car needs to have an MOT before you can get insurance. It is illegal to drive without either. It is usually why cars are so cheap there.
  10. Yeah I can't run in the series anymore. S series Turbo with a firewall cut Though I am happy to say my turbo is bigger than that one
  11. Glad you are getting somewhere with this. I was towed from my workplace (Vodafone) many years ago by some twat who had no authority to request a vehicle towed. He didn't recognize my new car. The car was towed in reverse and they badly damaged the front bumper and curbed a wheel. Same issues with the towing company. They were impossible to deal with. They don't require customer service whatsoever. Vodafone reimbursed me for all damages and the towing fee in the end. But it took me a long time to track down who had requested it in the first place. It took him bragging about mistakenly having a car towed to a co-worker months later. I did plot revenge but I think he knew it was coming and left shortly after.
  12. Didn't realise the US version doesn't have floating rotors and different axles and diff. Really isn't an M3 at all is it. They just slapped an M3 badge on the back of a 330i Motorsport.
  13. 370 off the E30 and the 385 off the E34? I sold a 370 just the other day for less than $200. And there was also a couple of others offered. Post in the wanted area. I can move this post if you like.
  14. Spotted a red E36 coupe with Red spotlights on the Shore. Yep they were on the front and switched on... I think the owner miscounted the coils he needed to cut too. Car is lower in the back than the front.
  15. I am always very weary of old cars coming from Japan. You never know to what standard the car was looked after. Repairs in Japan can be and often are of very low standard.

    M325i

I wouldn't. E30 you are likely to get your money back any time you wish. E46 will continue to plummet just like the E36 M3's.
  17. Hey guys, Does anyone know how to adjust the input volume for the AUX line on a E60 with iDrive? Mine is very quiet no matter what is plugged in. Full volume is around 60% of what CD/Radio can go to. I can't find any obvious settings. This seems to be an issue across all later BMW models. On the E90's without iDrive they are able to adjust it. Anything with iDrive doesn't seem to get the option. Spent hours looking for a solution on various other Bimmer forums. No luck. Many people have this problem.
  18. Great work. Is a shame that you won't be able to run in the BMW series with us. Would love to see it out there.
  19. Thought about buying it and stripping it for parts. Always good to have a spare gearbox for the race car.
  20. Don't forget you have a 70L tank so you can be given the illusion you are getting great mileage. I get around 9.0L/100kms around town with no open road driving in the E60 530D. (would have to check the computer again as recently traffic has been sh*t) Open road is around 6L/100kms on cruise control. The old E39 540 on average was doing 13.8L/100kms around town.
  21. Isn't that just a one man army?

    Carjacking

Back in around 1999 a mate of mine had his fathers Falcon GT car jacked on Queen Street. Him and his father had just finished restoring the $70K Falcon and as a reward for helping he was allowed to go into town. Bottom of Queen a large Maori reached through the window and put a knife to his throat. Car was never seen again.
