You race through work ay! No more waiting on that welding that takes 3 days longer than promised huh
-
Lookin gooooood! Welders are awesome - when I got mine it lifted a barrier that I would always come up against when I'd start doing work on my car, would always have to stop and go somewhere to get welding done, not anymore! Did you buy an auto darkening welding helmet? These are a must have.

Lookin good, motivation for deleting the sun roof was just weight reduction? Any damage to the roof or outside?

Some cars were fitted with them, some were not. The only way to properly tell if it had one is to plug it into a machine and have it tell you. However, if a car is supposed to have one and you don't plug it in, it will run like total crap, your car is running fine so didn't come with one. Same with mine, the plug for the o2 sensor has a blank over t.

A warning for those who don't check their brake's
QuickSilver replied to tibbs.james's topic in Maintenance
Ideally people should be checking them atleast once every 3 months and bleeding them once a year. I know I do. My brakes help me stop. That's pretty far gone though, must have REALLY been making a noise too haha. -
Thanks guys you've all been very informative. Is there a way to type horizontally during other things, not just browsing?
-
Sweet this info is great, what data allowance have you got setup? Im using the iPhone 60 plan, 250mb, 60 mind etc etc, I like what I've seen so far!
-
Sorry also wanted to ask, how do I know when the phone is downloading data? Like you say in the gps maps will it automatically start downloading?
-
Ahh I see so if for example if I use the twitter application it won't continue to be online after I close it? That could be a tad annoying with the maps but I think I'll live. That's crazy cool about the skype app. I'll have to get it, aside from the iPhones drawbacks have you been relatively happy with it? How quickly does the data usage go while browsing?
-
Thanks that's brilliant, exactly what I was after, just a couple more noob questions, what is gsm? Do things like the gps maps use data? Thanks for the info regarding the other stuff also.

Hi all, I've just picked up one of these bad boys and I'm quite unsure of a few things! My main questions lie with "Data usage" what exactly counts towarda my MBs on vodafone? Am I correct in thinking that when I'm connected to a wifi network that this does not affect my data allowance? All my apps work regardless whether I'm on a wifi connection or not, how do I know when I'm connected to the vodafone network? Say if I forget to login to wifi and start browsing away? Noob questions! Thanks all!

Lots to do in Munich, was there in December, back to see family in Germany (Suttgart = hometown). Popped in to see the museum and BMW world. Do the rest as suggested above, but to be honest, the museum itself sucked in my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed BMW world and there is HEAPS to do there, its interactive and interesting. But the museum itself is old and outdated and in need of a re-vamp. This is just my opinion of course. Time to kill? Why not take a seat in the "Storm of ingenuity" and watch as wealthy business men pick up their brand new BMW's. Yes, there are spectator seats where you can watch as their car is presented to them and they receive their keys and drive away. If you want to see the best museum EVER go to Stuttgart and check out the Damler-benz museum. - F.T.W.

Have destroyed a tie rod end like this - undid the nut until it was level, and started wacking away, it was SO stuck, and after constant wacking I totally damaged the nut and thread of the tie rod, eventually it came out - solution I cut the damaged section off, still had plenty of thread, and got a brand new and shiny nut on there! I've always found wacking the side of its mount (where it slips into) will eventually wriggle it free.

I wouldn't count on that, burglary is a repeat offense, our house has been hit several times, each time the cops reckon by the same lot. (Yes every time we stepped up security measures to no avail)

Land Transport (Enforcement Powers) Amendment Bill
QuickSilver replied to bravo's topic in General Discussion
I could not agree more. Also, I would think the majority of this forum, and people in general, who have modified cars have nothing to worry about. I for one take complete pride in my car, therefore every mod that I do is legal, and safe and up to standard. Why worry? Of course there is the minority thats causing all this fuss. They are the people who will be affected by this bill, and I'm sorry, but they are the people who will kick up the biggest fuss. If your not doing anything wrong, why would they take your car? Why would they bother you at all? The police are not a force of people with one mind set, they are people like you and I, who also own cars that are modified I'm sure, and can clearly see the difference between "boy racer" (the guy in the car with the steelies on the back with no springs doing a "phat" skid out onto the road) and a "car enthusiast". However, if the car enthusiast starts doing "phat skidz" out onto the road also, what makes him any different from the boy racer? All in all, my point is, if your not doing anything wrong, you're not going to get trouble. Simple right? And if there is a law to do with exhausts that are too loud, then quiet them down. Whats the big deal? My 2c. -
Clarification needed: Above comments refer to the METAL parcel underneath the MDF one. Cut the MDF one to buggery if you want. DON'T TOUCH THE METAL ONE!
-
Yep, its really common, make sure when you replace it to mark where the prop shaft was aligned, otherwise you could get the two pieces out of balance and you will still get vibrations, (just mark them with a twink pen or something)

Happy birthday, do a skid then buy booze!

Again Ryan, glad your ok, it could've been the same dudes that followed me (afterall they were in a subaru too haha) Back in school... about 5 years ago a friend of mine had a ridiculous e30 with gold pearl, he got stabbed and his car stolen... NEVER got to new lynn shooters at night....

That sucks. Big time!!! Had the same thing happen to me a few years back, came home to see the back door wide open, and the back window torn off its hinges, they only tore through my room, strolled past other valuables, laptops and a few other things, left them standing, stole everythin not nailed down from my room, and not only that, when I got in there, they'd left a big ass knife on my bed - :| Hope you've got insurance!!!

How about 55KPH when my speedo reads 70KPH! However at around 100 - 110 it gets deadly accurate, I know this as I've had a speeding ticket at 112... thought it would be innacurate all the way through, but no.

Dibs on the badge! I'll give you $10 for it?
