Jeep have done it for a while, probably other manufacturers too.

Just out of interest, do you run a filter setup on this, i assume also you've converted to map sensor or is it just running on a base setting?
-
I want the flame thrower but have too many toys, half of which i don't play with.
-
Agree, 300mm is the standard solid tone, no point in nearly touching before it goes solid. You can always get an aftermarket sensor kit if you really need one, they don't work nearly as well as the genuine item but it's still something.

Was just thinking that, very cool.Best thing to do is just drive straight, no point swerving and potentially causing an accident, i had to get a new front splitter out of Gremany for this reason. Unable to swerve and if i did i would have lost my car not just a piece of plastic.

You don't want to know what the sensor costs new, even my price, three figures, first figure doesn't start with 1, 2 or 3.So second hand it is. Ray, will PM you.

We've done some epically big bills, none of which i'll list.
-
Ha know worries, the more broken the cheaper they are.
-
I'd say it will be that pump, disconnect and remove it, soley for emissions. Not needed, plenty of cars come into work with the pump not there or just unplugged, have replaced a few and yes they are expensive.
-
Does look a bit rough, probably be able to part it for a small profit, not that there is a great deal of E38s around.
-
Ok great, i'll source the guard else where, what's the cost on the sensor?Cheers.
-
I would assume if it was one of the pullies the noise would be there the whole time not just on start up, if the car is hot and you start it does the noise come back?
-
$600 is cheap for what it is, the mags alone would be that.
-
Hey Ray, you wouldn't happen to have a L/R ABS speed sensor for a F/L E39 525? Also the wheel guard for the R/F as pictured below: Thanks.
-
Just make a gearboot/cover sorround that'll go over the mastercylinder.

That's a terrible noise, trying to think where the air pumps are on those, E46 ones are on the left hand side when looking into the engine bay, big drum looking thing, have heard them let go and does sound similar to yours....although it does sound like a pully bearing letting go, how long does this noise last for, if only a few minutes my guess would be the pump. My E36 has just started doing the same thing, it's the pump on mine, sounds like a huge air leak (which i'm guessing is exactly that), stops after a minute or so once the engine has some heat in it.

You certainly know your painting John, if i need anything done i'll know where to go.
-
Didn't bother reading the text, he would have to have rocks in his head asking a price like that ha.
-
Think i'd buy an E39 M5 for the same coin. What are some people thinking!
-
If in fact it is a fuel pressure guage, it's an E30, so at some stage someone put it there to diag a fault etc. No harm in leaving it there.
-
Thought so, ha not needed.
-
Thought yours was an M52?

Ha! A simple shout my way would be much appreciated next time
