I don't see how changing cams is the solution to detonation. There are many other factors that could be looked at before switching out cams. would it not be better to get it running right first and then consider a different cam ? Detonation as you know will eventually destroy a HG or burn a hole in a piston or something. Somebody else is bound to ask for more information like what type of fuel you are running and has the ECU been tuned for the current combination, is the ignition timing too far advanced? I'm no expert on anything much but a high compression engine needs to be running good fuel and have a decent tune as well as being in good serviced condition. ( common sense ) Otherwise Kelford Cams did a great Job doing a custom one off Grind for My boosted Datsun. Good luck getting it sorted.

sorry to hijack ..... Bravo Hankook, do a road legal semi slick 205 in 14 and the over all height of the tire is pretty dam close to the 195/65/14's that were on my old 14 weaves the 205 bulged a bit on the 14 weaves so it would be perfect on the 7" rim or even an 8" rim oh and back on topic of widened steelies You do not want to go near a 4wd steel rim, I have them on my garage floor and holey batman are they heavy the steel can be around really thick in places.

Finding a decent car is hard work, its nearly always best to deal with what you have already got if its in good cond. I would be so stoked if Anthony put an M50 into the old DNH mobile I still get people calling up from old classic car magazines about it

I love the infatuation by bimmersport with the saying DO A SKID

Don't you hate when somebody is towing a car through the city at 30kmh in the middle of peak hour traffic. Opps my bad this was me today !

I hope you get something working out Nathan But like most have come to realize sensible daily transport somehow wins out in the end. This is why i have a Hilux Surf. I hope you can keep your E30 and maybe just use it rather than modify it. I fully Regret selling my old car.

Rear sway bar did wonders for my E30 320i But it ALREADY had stiffer shocks & springs fitted

Does the E30 ECU vary fuel pump voltage depending on engine load/ throttle position ? I have had this problem with a Nissan ECU / fuel pump circuit and Ollies method cured my problem

I really hate dicks in wannabe drift spec Nissan's doing Massvie O's on a blind intersection at 5pm when im trying to drive home from work. As for the "my mates car is so awesome" type of stories.... back in high school one of my friends had the most rancid brown sh*t heap LADA in the world It got more respect than anything else because the guy wasn't trying to talk it up or say how he had a such and such. It was so shocking it was plain awesome in a hillarious makes you smile type of way. Made all the guys with try hard cars all pissed off because their big bore wasn't getting all the attention. Oh yeah The only car i ever bust out the awesome stories is Rileys 340i My old flatmates thought i was talking such bollocks until they seen it in the flesh at Ruapuna taking down everything in sight.

there is only really 2 options ... as David said, normal height springs & swapping arms over until the desired result is found. or do the camber Castor sub frame/ bushing setup. unfortunately BMW didn't have the castor adjustment as factory like many other semi trailing arm setups from the era did have this feature. ( datsun z cars for example ) there are a few different sub frame mods using similar types of adjustment setups wherre an eccentric washer/bolt on a cam moves the bolt up down or forward and back in the slotted hole on the sub frame I will try and find pictures or a drawing of how the Datsun semi trailing arm one works

I get what your saying Henry about the fading but Kerry's 3 grand wont be wasted. Black is one of the hardest colors to get looking right but if its done properly it can look totally amazing , perhaps even more so than the red it is replacing. Kerry, awesome car can't wait to see more progress.

This post is of no relevence what so ever But it had to be posted !!

reading that it looks like the front shaft is 22mm diameter and has 130mm travel as far as the front rates you could ask for rates in kg/m which will mean something to a lot more people. ( Henry ? ) those numbers next to cylinder look like a brand specific part or model number of which type of cylinder the front and rear dampers use. Brand & Model of coil overs ?

When I was 5 I got lego and didn't stop until about 14 So many awesome kits of lego for kids, and it lasts forever and you can get creative and build whatever you like if you get a kit with enough parts. I would be surprised if they didn't have Iron Man Lego Just have to make sure DAD or whoever knows its not for him and to let the little one have a go -
All fixed up !

I can't understand the need for 4 different tunes unless you are running different fuel types and need to change ecu maps frequently. Would it not be less guesswork to go and see Gavin ? and get him to do custom tune on his dyno ? they way i see it, you could spend $350 on the chip and then spend more money on a dyno tune to have it setup properly. $350 could also achieve quite a lot of good quality service work that could help the engine run a lot better and make it last longer too.
