  1. Slower shutter speed won't help. Only way you can get a shot with the car in focus and the background blurred is if the cameraperson is in a car alongside going the same speed, or if you have a camera rig on the car. You could always pshop some smoke in?
  2. Pics will help. It should bolt up using the bumper mounting bolts. But as I say pics will confirm.
  3. It's still in the shop Atta? What's wrong with it?
  4. You're a qualified checkout chick....the world is yours.
  5. Ollie only wants you to send lo-res copies at this stage (see original post). I'm guessing if you're chosen he'll get you to email the full size ones?
  6. Any CHCH lads want to get together for a last minute group shoot on the w/end?
  7. Thanks for using up all my internets.... resize your pics!!!Â
  8. My opinion on the benefits of having a DIY section: - Easier to point noobs in the right direction of common mods instead of having them battle with the rather inadequate search engine. - Mods can be chassis specific if necessary (E30, E36, E34 etc). Currently chassis codes aren't picked up by the search which requires more than three characters to work. - Stops noobs posting endless threads on how to all-red your tail lights. - Not all mods are clearly documented on other forums, and a lot pertain to US spec cars, products or parts which are often unavailable or at least quite different to ours. - Encourages members to post the process of their mods rather than just the results. As Antileet mentioned, locking the DIY section and having admin move the best threads into it will stop posting of ridiculous things like "How to: lock your diff" or "DIY: Putting stockings on your headlights"
  9. I realise this mod has been well documented on BS recently. However, I thought it would be good to have a complete walkthrough in one thread as I know it was a PITA trolling through tonnes of threads all with different bits and pieces of information. Here's how I did it: 1) Bought this stuff from Mitre 10. ($10-15) 2) Masked up the lights leaving only the amber section to be painted. Scuffed the surface with 600 grit for better adhesion. Removed all contaminants with wax and grease remover. 3) Began to spray. You need to do this all in one coat, otherwise it mottles and looks shite. So hold the can about 25cm from the lens and spray in light, even strokes until you gradually build up to the desired colour. I left mine slightly "blood orange" but the more you apply the redder the finish gets. 4) Leave to dry for three hours, then reinstall the lights. Unfortunately I found some nice chunks of car cancer while removing the lights; one piece of which will require a steel patch to be fabricated, so off to a rust repairer next week. 5) Result. And a comparison with the normal amber colour. TIPS: - The best part about using the Plasti-Kote product is that if you stuff it up you can soak the light in very hot water and the paint will scrape off. - If using a clear coat use a compatible Plasti-Kote product. Some clearcoats will destroy and melt the finish. P.S: Cheers to all those whose posts and threads I referenced to help me do this mod: Penry, Glenn, Indecorous, Frantic, Shady + more I'm sure. E: Added approx price to spray
  10. $800-$1200 depending on how much someone wanted a set. Type II's are reasonably sought after so you shouldn't have trouble selling them.

Looks incredible! All that effort has paid off man. Can't wait to see where you take this car from here. Oh, and there is one smiley headlight for sale on TM for like $30 if you want to even out your lighting arrangement.
  12. Still my favourite... I miss you.... *sniff*
  13. ^^^ Guys, if I bought those RS's as parts for my wheels could I use my centres bolted to the lips of that set and use those oh so hot BBS centrecaps? Hmmmmm....

    e30 fl bumpers

Tow hooks are all up the wazoo... bumper mounting points in the wrong place etc. and it won't ever look 100% factory. Paint the chrome if you want an all black look, or just buy a FL car!
  15. Electrical tape is too glossy, won't stick permanently and isn't the right width. You can buy special shadowline tape but not in NZ. I just masked mine up and painted mine. Just make sure you scuff the plastic with a fine grit sandpaper first, use plastic adhesion primer and then your choice of topcoat (I used matte black acrylic).
  16. HB Ian Do a skid! (Yes, got in first!)

    a good challange!

I like the white TBH Saves a lot of trouble too with regards to painting the interior, boot, engine bay etc.
  18. Lowerage of the springs? 30mm? 40mm?
  19. + you've totally convinced me to get mine fully polished now. Looks the shizz on the Schwartz. Cruise control with manual? Is there a lot of point in doing that? And will it even work? Oh and OBC is overrated... they never work properly.
  20. Yeah, that shutter speed wasn't quite fast enough! And the composition, if I'm honest, isn't great.... would look better with all the car in the shot. (BTW - sarcasm font)
  21. I've got it just for the free tows. And I upgraded to the super duper whos-ya-daddy membership so that they tow you from anywhere in the country and will put you up in accommodation if you get stuck etc. I'm not very mechanically minded, so I like having peace of mind that I can just call them if something breaks.
  22. Looks awesome Nick... hey I saw you at the mall the other day but you were surrounded by hundreds of hot girls, so just snapped a pic of you instead: Pimpin!
