HB Mark... have a good one!
  2. Battery is dead as a doorknob. Needs to be replaced. P.S: Punctuation is your friend.Â
  3. I have the nose panel and front bumper. In Boston Green unfortunately... but can do a good price and easy pickup in Chch. PM me if keen.

    Movember

Missus put the hard word on that I wasn't to grow a mo until after cup week was over. So this is my late start effort after 5 days.
  5. ^Excellent post. Cheers! I'll look in to the braided lines and E32 master cylinder upgrade. Then get slotted rotors when my current ones give up the ghost. Good to see I've chosen the right pads and fluid so far regardless!
  6. Easiest to use is a stumpy screwdriver. But I just used a normal one angled slightly past the door... shouldn't be too hard.
  7. Now we all know that the stock brakes on an E30 have as much bite as a toothless Chihuahua and that pedal feel is spongier than Grandma's christmas trifle.... but I'm interested to know how others have improved their stopping power? My setup is fairly basic: - Stock OEM rotors - EBC Greenstuff front pads - OEM BMW pads on rear - DOT 5.1 fluid. This setup had no problems repeatedly hauling me up from 160km/h+ at the last trackday I went on, but I'm looking for a firmer pedal feel and a bit more brake bite earlier in the pedal travel to make heel-toeing easier. I've taken the car to have all the brake systems checked out and everything is working as it should. They're flushing the brake fluid as a precaution. So, question is... what improvements can be made and what are you guys running? Cheers, Mark.
  8. Not open weekends... just call them for a price.
  9. Tried Eurorec on Blenheim Road?
  10. Hot... nice effort bringing another E36 back to life!
  11. Spoke to him when I was looking at buying a 328 off his yard... he mentioned he raced BMW's.I've changed my mind.... don't sell it. What beautiful noise am I gonna listen to instead of you tearing up and down my street?
  12. If he's serious... go back and say "$30k and it's yours" and see what he says. You've nothing to lose! Car dealer isn't Allan Milligan perchance?
  13. Tough choice. The scrooge in me says take the money and run. The BMW lover in me says don't give up the project you've worked so hard on. However, first I'd figure out if this guy is legit.
  14. Pull out the float sensor in the side of the washer bottle and test to see if it is faulty. I imagine they're not expensive to replace new from BMW or you could get one second hand.
  15. Electric aerial? Boot badge in good condition? Gearshift boot? Keen on these bits ^^^
  16. Generally I hate boser style bonnets, but that actually looks really good. Wouldn't change anything on that car, except maybe the engine and gearbox!
  17. Quality on those lights are fine. They're plug and play and they come with all the necessary bulbs etc. Shipping takes a while as they come from Aussie, but not too long (think mine took two weeks during the Xmas rush). I had a set on my E36 and never had any problems.
  18. ^^Haha... world famous in New Zealand.
  19. Pretty sure this is the same car that Paul "kiwi535" was looking at in Invercargill a while back. He went through a whole lot of inspections to find out that it had an untraceable engine misfire of some sort and was overall pretty rough. Was told he might "make a $5000 guess" on repairs. Thread with link to another thread here
  20. Spotted on Riccarton Road, Chch today at about 5pm. An E34 with what appeared to be the front of an 8 series tacked on to it!!!! Weird. Unfortunately it passed me before I could get a plate number.
  21. If he's at fault surely his insurance company has to let you take the car wherever you want it to be repaired? Well, that's always how I thought insurance worked.

    Could not resist.

Looking very tidy... needs Style 32's though

    Never say never !

Sand it back and see how bad it is... Could need some filler to flatten it out. As long as you sand back to bare metal, etch prime and then topcoat it should look fine, doesn't matter if the finish on the valance is slightly matte.

    E30S50

Yeah, seems odd that it's munting gearboxes when you're running stock power output and you're using the gearbox mated to the S50 from factory??!!
  25. Take one out and see if it matches any at Supercheap. They have the ones for the E36 interior lights, should have E30 ones too.
