    E30 MTech2 Touring

99% Done for now, Majority of the last freakin month and a half was getting the exhaust headers fitted with the V bands to sit in a suitable space, Plus they are an absolute nightmare to fit with the motor in. Hopefully won't be touching them for a long while. Also had the Driveshaft hoops done. Went in for it's cert last week, didn't have any issues except for needing to provide some documentation for E30 vs Z3 rack to ensure no pivot points had been changed, Just emailed them the E30Wiki and a Googled picture of E30 vs Z3 rack which sufficed. Today the cert plate was mounted Actually doesn't ride as bad as I thought with coilovers, abit more noisy but handles well I missed the quick Z3 rack for sure after driving a fully stock E30 round for the last 6 months it's crazy how different they feel and how much better this one handles, very sharp responsive steering. Still to do: Look at raising the Idle RPM abit, Flywheel is noisy as hell and rattles until I give it the lightest bit of throttle to about 900 and it's good. Finish the last 1/3rd of the exhaust from subframe back it's joined to my old 2.5" Coby + Magnaflow, too loud for my liking but I intended on getting some Borla mufflers from Summit racing early next year anyway.
  4. More than likely a registration error, VIN is right, probably because it's an Import from UK?
  5. Very nice seats, I reckon they wouldn't quite look right in anything but an M3 though!
  6. Getrag240. Should work with a Getrag220 too, in my old M50 swapped e30 I had a Getrag 220 with the Stage 3 kit which has a 6 puk clutch. Worst clutch to use if you plan on driving it around, no slip so you get some nice rodeo action at lights when trying to take off in 1st and you miss the sweet spot.
  7. I have a spare MSS54 DME that is apparently dead, I had it sent to the U.S for some modding and was told it doesn't work. I don't really have a way of testing it but I have the keys, EWS box etc that were with the DME. The only catch is that they made me buy one of their spares and never actually sent me my original back until months later when I made a Paypal claim. It's definitely been opened, as they said they tried to "connect directly to the chips" and it wouldn't work. I don't really wanna go naming people and places, but I was told after some time from a reputable tuner in the U.S after dropping into someone elses thread on another forum that I was probably screwed over and that they don't fail often at all (which was what made me pursue getting my original DME back) Is there any way to tell if the DME matches the EWS? I checked the VIN on the casing and it goes back to a UK M3, Nothing obvious on the EWS to show they match. I never had written it down before hand but I'm sure it's likely the outside of mine at least, but whether they just switched the inside or not is questionable. If it's dead it's dead, nothing I can do i guess. I opened it up and it all looks OK, nothing obviously done. Just curious if they dicked me really, plus would be good to know if there was a way to get it working so i could have a spare or sell the matching set or keys / EWS and DME. Optimistic
  8. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/clutches/auction-999196310.htm Very good clutch IMO. Used one with a lightened m20 flywheel and beefed up m52.
  9. Because the M20 one is single mass and can be lightened, Better clutch options etc. The M40 one will be dual mass and will probably explode behind an m52 (not really)
  10. If you both agreed to not complete the sale, they have a option to reclaim their success fee, which they have to state a reason either no contact, buyer refused or mutual agreement. Doesn't really matter, but it's up to them as it's their auction and success fee. Doesn't need to involve the buyer at all.
  11. Interesting, so it already had the middle loom section up to the doors? Good info, I know someone who will find this useful and actually makes it alot more straightforward.
  12. Yeah ain't that annoying when they bring this stupid threshold down, everybody is driving 90kmh and riding their brakes at every bend. Can imagine the frustration that adds to some people to pull some risky maneuvers and get past.

    Andrews E30 Sedan

Damn those wheels look good on an e30. Needs to go a little lower in the rear I reckon compared to the front. Other than that veddy nice
  16. Told you.. that's what I got
  17. It's a getrag 240 but with a m20 angle bellhousing, you can't change the bellhousing. You need the box from a 318, sits on the right angle. Least you will have the right driveshaft and linkage for it. If not you can use a getrag 220 from an e36 with the 320i linkage and driveshaft too, but the ratios require a lower ratio diff like 3.23 or 3.46.
  18. It's a Getrag 240 from a 318i E30 Facelift (M40), not the M20. This was a pretty good price and it lasted that long. I was pretty tempted but didn't need another E30..
  19. That's a few bodies, are they cut up? Double bag in garbage bags + ice
  20. But we are the professionals.
  21. Some Jake guy owned it. Was for sale again recently.
  22. If they fit the same as m20/m50 yeah. Which size you after?
