As above to suit 97 528i. Will a7 series one fit?

Rain today so no building swimming pools....instead did oil and filter on E46 328i, Valve cover gaskets, installed Powerflex bushes. First drive noticed smoother, tighter steering, and no diving to the side under braking which is what i wanted. Definitely not harsher. My left hand bush was going soft, the right side one was ok so very happy with the result so far. Thanks Glenn for advice and easy buying.

Am looking at possible getting an X5 to tow a trailer for work - ( would rather spend 10-12k on BMW than 20k on a hilux ) Am currently thinking the 99-2002 vintage probs the 3.0L with a sportpac. Any opinions/words of wisdom appreciated - the 3L versus the V8 etc. I am aware that the maintenance costs will be much higher than a toyota etc.......

Ok, it's for the wife's daily so not going too harsh/firm

Thanks anyone in particular at stocks?

Looking for an upgrade to the factory units. Have found one possible source for power-flex bushes any others in NZ please?
-
Also have engine crane and leveller available from Te puke by arrangement.
-
Thanks, I have a locking pin but wanted a proper holder and have just got one made. So I have the timing tool kit including the cam locks and a crank holder available for a small fee

Anyone after some intake parts let me know. Running sweet now just needs a new accelerator cable and a pair of steering rack boots......

It won't matter the EWS is not available for the engine I bought so will suck and see. I suspect this car is cursed though, it had done less than 150k on a full replacement long block and new radiator that cost the owner 16.5k in 2007 due to being cooked by him as well.
-
Yeah keen to get this one running again it's got those sport seats I bought off you in it. PO managed to cook it then rang me to complain ....14 months later
-
Yeah seem like I just leave the current dme in place assuming part numbers are same. Cheers
-
No it's not

Ok I found an engine to swap in from same year and model single vanos 2.8, comes with Ecu. Do I need the key and EWS module too? Cheers
-
I've picked up an e39 with the alloy block 2.8 Has been overheated, one cylinder has low compression (140) and its leaking oil from near the same cylinder. Are these worth trying to fix or better to repower. Cheers

I drove past that when I was in dunnas for a wedding about 2 years ago ha ha. Had a flat then too. Just needs a jump start and a foot pump by the looks.....

No aux fan as far as I know unless there is a pusher hidden in front of the ac thingy. Thanks for link. My replacement fan clutch and hose have already turned up from bmw world cheers Brent so will be fitting those asap.
-
Thanks Brent, have also noticed that disconnecting the ICV make no difference to idle, however it idles fine.
-
Thanks Mac, i swapped out the coil, king lead with no joy then unplugged and reseated the plug on the ECU and it seems to be running fine, the clear misfire is gone anyway. Just have the original overheating issue to deal with. I have put in new larger radiator - it had some UK cold climate version. The overflow hose to the expansion tank was blocked, there is a pin hole in the top hose and the viscous fan is easy to stop when fully warm. It sits at 12' o clock for a while but then slowly creeps over. Then its onto the squeaky cabin fan....

i need the top hose with the branch to the heater please.
