That is a nice e30 - I think it has some collectible value being that low mileage, and in such good condition. kind of a shame to hear it will be chopped into another non-factory 325i.

Timing the m60 with a new chain, took the locking pin out and turned the engine over twice, all marks line up fine but there were 2 spots where I had to reverse and then turn again to get past. IS this normal? Lash from the lifters?

Back together with new crank sprocket, deflection wheel, cam chains, main chain, timed and ready for covers to go back on.

e30's have a rack not a box. What about your rack ends and ball joints? I had the same issue but it was solved by swapping out the rotors, calipers and pads from a donor

That's a very expensive quote. Note the wof sheet says rear brake hoses cracked but they have quote fronts. Anyway those hoses can be much cheaper I got some for about $25 a side. I'd suggest you try sherson automotive in greerton tauranga. Short drive 30 mins? and he's very reasonable on costs.

no, the back face is just touching the front caliper so needs a wee shave and some 16" rubber.

Are you wanting the original early type knuckle or the later symmetrical one? I have one of these early knuckles still in the box and some bits left over from my manual conversion. Would help if you put together a parts list of the linkage bits.

Consider getting some spare ball joint boots and springs incase you rip it or find it ripped. I got some from Sas suspension for like $5 each.

Not one of the wise ones I had very similar symptoms on a 4cyl and it was the throttle position switch. I found it hard to check with a dmm but the click test was conclusive.Google e30 check tps.
