  1. Interesingly the chassis number for both cars has the same numbers at the end 859252, according to Carjam anyways. Now if it has been re-shelled that would be one hell of a co-incedence? Suggests to me that it could well be the original vehicle, registration lapsed and for some reason the guy went to the lengths of the personal plate to make the rego look the same.Old service or warrant details would have the chassis number on as well, but I think he said he didn't have any of those. Also both plates refer back to a vehicle first registered in NZ on August 6th, 1987 which would tie up with the build date of May '87 from real OEM (which also links the stated VIN back to a 325i 2 door manual, but doesn't specify the M or not). The first vehicle lapsed the registration in '91 and the second vehicle was re-registered in '97, which again all suggests to me it is the one and the same car. Seems a lot of aggro for a not very-personal plate? Maybe he just wanted the rego to match up with the old history or something?
  2. Have a good 'un fella! Here's to many more
  3. ^^ = Corporate colour scheme Seriously though, lots of new performace cars do look smoking hot in white, not sure why, used to be an awful colour on most cars. Practical side it is an absolute b!tch to keep clean, especially on a race car eh Foxy? Not a good idea.
  4. Some nice pics and history in that M3 brochure. Like this one... Anyone got this pic in a poster size? Would look great and provide inspiration in the garage?
  5. That CF airbox is soooo awesome, you could easily suck a small child into that, excellent You're a lucky man Danno getting a lift round Puke in one, I hope you were keeping up in your E30?? I'm in two minds with the CSL, yes I would so love to own one, but I think you would have to track it regularly to get the proper use from it, there is no way you could do it justice on the public roads in NZ. How much different is the CS? I have heard it is 99% as sharp as the lightweights but a lot more useable as a daily, plus quite a bit cheaper to buy and maintain.
  6. I think they would work ok but not the best, just be an absolute b@##$d to get the things on there, would need some good spring compressors and a lot of pushing and shoving!
  7. Glad it has gone to a good home, I know that the previous owner (Tom) spent a lot of time and effort on sorting any issues with the car and maintained it to a high standard. Enjoy!
  8. THE GYNECOLOGIST WHO BECAME A MECHANIC A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO paperwork, and was burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic. He went to the local technical college, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could. When the time of the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill. When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the Instructor, saying, "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade?" "The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark." After a pause, the instructor added, "I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler, which I've never seen done in my entire career".
  9. Seems to be a sudden increase in the number of E30 verts for sale on TM just recently, probably trying to get max $$$s by selling in the summer. A real wide choice and different options for anyone looking. From this 325i manual... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-273556561.htm Or this 325i manual (put some Alpina reps on and it's my twin ) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-266475508.htm Good condition 325i auto (don't do it Tom - you know you want to keep it!) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-267502482.htm Through to this 325i auto that needs some tidying up http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-272307523.htm Also a couple of 320i on there and a few Baur for those of that persuation. Not a half decent one to be had before I brought mine out, now there's a choice - typical!
  10. I've got a pair of rear rubber pads and set of std springs in Palmy if that helps to get you through the WoF and mobile?
  11. That is probably comparing the inter-connect cables, HDMI, DVI, types. Speaker cables run over much longer distances, especially with a home theatre install (I used 3 x 50m drums of cable on mine) and the effect of the cable quality is much greater.
  12. A couple of points to bear in mind before you get too far into it all.... firstly how big is the room that you want to put the gear in? The all-in-one box amp, sub and small speakers packages are just about Ok in small rooms but any decent size and you will need more power and bigger speakers to fill the room with sound. Second point, how good is the sound card in your PC, if you get a decent set up for the surround, it will show up any problems with the card, not forgetting you would need a digital output to be decoded for proper 5.1 surround. Personally I would vouch for the comment above, go for an entry level amp from a good brand, Yamaha or Denon are the best in HT, with a reasonable speaker package and good thickness speaker cables.
  13. If you are aiming to become a known and recognised label then the brand image is the most important thing, having a name which points to a specific style / fashion would be very risky if the actual clothes were NOT for that market. Seriously would suggest you identify what market you are aiming to sell to and then develop a name and brand image that locks into that.Having experienced the original Punk movement first hand, I still find it odd that people associate punks with Nazi's, while the imagery was used (German helmets / uniforms / swastikas) to shock people and create a reaction, the whole politcal ethos behind Punk was extreme socialism, claiming things for the people. Listen to the lyrics on God Save The Queen and Anarchy In The Uk, not exactly Nazi anthems are they?? Back to the point, the T-shirt design is good, only suggestion would be to increase the size of the cut out person to make it stand out - possibly another colour than white - or would it be the colour of the T-shirt coming through? Good luck with the venture, even if you don't become the next Huffer, you can still make a decent living at it.
  14. No, no, no, no, NO, Sh!t, NO! Why do cars this good and well looked after only come up for sale when I am totally skint? Do you do layby at all Atta? Or want to p/x a 325i 'vert??
  15. +1, looking at how the water is flowing in the photo he is heading UP-stream, always best to head DOWN stream, causes less of a bow wave up the front of the vehicle and is generally easier / better! Lucky it was only on one cylinder, must only have been a small amount of water.
  16. Looks good from the outside, but how many fake trees had to be killed to produce all that fake wood trim??
  17. Phew, what a relief, 1) we're back, 2) it wasn't just me!! thought for a while it was a blocked site at work - but i was too aftraid to ask Glad it's all back up and running, was spending far too much time dreaming about E30 M3s on racecarsdirect.com
  18. ^^ Not sure if you noticed, but that dealer is in Northern Ireland, might make it a bit more difficult to import. Interesting place for a holiday as well ! One dealer to steer well clear of on AutoTrader is Big Motoring World, the guy has been around for years under different names, all starting with BMW, keeps getting taken to court by BMW Ag. not surprisingly. He specialises in used BMWs, but most are base model ex-lease or ex-rental with moon miles, some allegedly clocked back, chucks some replica alloys and a leather interior on them to sell as higher spec cars. Absolutely no interest in the car once sold, even threatened my mate with "I know where you live" just because he asked for the service books to the car he had bought and been promised!!
  19. I do have a soft spot for the British Racing Green (for obvious reasons) but I would have preferred the black and gold colour scheme from the old Lotus JPS cars - ahh childhood memories.
  20. Ahh, the joys of the metric system, amazing how many people still don't get it and how often the decimal place is put in the wrong place . Never had this problem with proper measurements - feet and inches
  21. Hope you have a good one mate! Another year older, another year wiser!!
  22. Jeez Danno, you don't half seem to get yourself into some scrapes! Are you just unlucky, or a bit of a gangsta on the side Hope you get it all sorted mate, but I don't rate your chances of getting any cash soon.
  23. Looks like it was in a frontal accident before the fire, possibly the cause?I saw the burnt out 'vert as well Andy, what a choker. Shame I didn't see it early as it has now been started to part out. Hope to be getting a few bits off it soon.
  24. You mean Britain is no longer part of the EU - Hooray, at last! Pack the bags love we're going back!Just checked, and unfortunately Britain still hasn't come to it's senses and is still ruled by Sausage and garlic munchers based in Brussels. Being even MORE pedantic, a Morris is ENGLISH not BRITISH, made entirely in England. Playing guess the brown car, I'm not sure on the Avenger, possibly a late square headlight model, edge of guard is not right for early round headlight. I would say, a Morris Marina (keeping in the Morris family)?
