Not exactly answering your question, but there were only 26 NZ new examples of the F13 M6. I will try and find how many were imported from overseas and how many are left. Interestingly of those 26 all but 1 (a Wellington car) all were originally sold in Auckland, again I will try and find out if any have migrated down to CHCH, well there is obviously one, but I mean I will try and see if there are any others. The link above is quite useful, but it only shows those vehicles where their registered persons have not asked for their information to be hidden, so there are possibly more than the numbers quoted.

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
All this talk of curry and roti is making me very hungry.. I keep looking for a cheap(ish - it's all relative) E30 that is suitable for a quick tidy-up and flip, I've got a garage full of E30 parts that are all ready to be used, but I haven't seen anything hit the market that fits the bill. The possilby rusty Pre-FL 318 was as good candidate - but that sold before I could even call the guy, so there are obviously others out there doing the same. But then I already have two E30s in the garage needing time and attention, adding a third one is probably not the best idea for marital peace and harmony. If the E30 had a few more safety features it could possibly be suggested as an ideal first car for the kids, but I don't think that will fly without an airbag or traction control.. -

It would depend very much on how the emissions test is measured. Checking a car is performing as it should - original emissions levels plus a small margin is sensible, requiring a 30 year old classic to meet EU6d levels would not be. -
@M3_Power post needs a price please.

There was a period of production at the start of the facelift models where 337 M PACKET option was not available at the factory. I understand it was not until MY update at end of ‘88 build that it was re-introduced. Which begs the question, if I have a chicken and swap in a ducks body, ducks wings and a ducks head, have I still got a chicken or is it now a duck..? -
Reputable BMW/MINI garage in Queenstown?

Hansens are actually an accredited BMW Service Agent, so same support and warranty status as a franchised dealership. -

It was listed at $30k asking, as it went so quick you would think it was pretty close to asking. Cost of finance is so low right now, and any savings are getting no return so not a lot to lose from that point. Good car to flip if you have the wherewithal to fix those rust spots and give it a tidy up. -

Good to see that one of the industry bodies has taken a broader look at the whole emissions issue, and not just focussed on the EV solution like the government has: MTA SUGGESTS EMISSIONS TESTING, SCRAPPAGE SCHEME, HOLISTIC VIEW Whilst the incentives for EVs are a positive move, there are other areas that could give significant improvements. The emissions testing would be a great step forwards, especially as the age of the vehicle fleet in NZ is old by comparision to most developed countries, and many people like to modify their vehicles. There is little or no positive result to be had spending tax payer money getting a relatively small number of new vehicles into NZ as electric models if there are millions of older vehicles that are pumping out massive amounts of Co2, NOx, smoke, etc... -

And some other nice goodies, SE steering wheel, cassette holder centre console. Most E30s rust around the rear lights, but yeah, would need to see how bad it is in other areas for it to be worthwhile saving. Pretty sure a bimmersporter used to own this, in the Air Force / flying, etc, Kelvinator8 was it?? -
Thread went way off topic and got out of control, so it’s been tidied up a bit. Disagree with the point fine, but argue against that, not the person posting please.

At least the 5.1 stuff I would suggest, I can’t remember what the Motul 600 is rated as but it’s a full on “race” fluid -not cheap, but good.

Sakhir Orange M4 - now an auction! - SOLD

True, but making a low-ball offer before even seeing the car is almost offensive. Once you've seen and tested the car is the time to start negotiations, possibly an "are you flexible on price?" before you view. Especially with a crock reason of "track-days will upset most purists"... i'ts an M car, not a Toyota Vitz, it's SUPPOSED to go on a track. -
Are you looking to keep the pads in the car the whole time or swap them over for the track days? Hawk do a good range of pads from “street” to “full race” I run the HP Plus in my race car - not the ultimate in stopping but last pretty well so a good trade off and possible all round pad? Good to see you recognise the need for the fluid, go for a good hi-temp one, Castrol or Motul. Thats most likely what’s giving the spongy pedal.

Attention needed from admin. Spam messaging
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to Cammsport's topic in Off-Topic
Yes, we seem to be under a spam attack. Very targeted though, even mentioning BMWs in the message. We are blocking the users when they are reported, so keep sending them through. Cheers, Admin. -
Thanks Dan, I have blocked a number of these users and deleted a number of messages as well. Apologies members, seems to be quite an involved system, lots of new users created to send the messages. As above, if you do get a message please let us know so we can block them all.

Very nice, not many around in that colour - which looks so good. Price is a reasonable starting point for negotiations. I’ve always understood it is really difficult to get cars into Aussie (protecting the now defunct factories), but it would be hard to replace over there. -

Probably fit a lot better than a fibreglass one! Would be interested to hear from anyone that has bought from Mr Bodykits, some of the stuff looks very tempting! -

Looks a nice car, modded, but looks period which is cool. If that’s your style over originality then fill your boots. Questions would be how long has it been parked up and how well stored.. do the photos reflect current condition? Price estimate is on the high side, if there were no negatives from the storage, then I would say $15k would be the top end of the price range, not the bottom. -

It’s a genuine M3 and low Kms, but considering the other M3s that struggled to sell around that price, it’s not an $80k M3. Down sides are: US Spec, non-original colour (big question - why re-spray, flagged as as damaged import..?), front seats (very hard to find genuine M3s), broken front bumper & missing tow eye covers & caps. Wheels on it have been sold separately, so it comes on what..? And this is just from the photos. Could be a good buy for someone, but not at anywhere near $80k, sorry. -
If it was a fault that was earthing out the battery then it would flatten it pretty quick. My suggestion would be to remove the damaged earth connection, then stick a charger on the battery and try again once it’s got some juice back in it. Somethings not quite right though, an earth fault should cause the fuse to blow, as it’s pulling too much current. It sounds to me like that hasn’t happened, so check your fuse box as well.

Good point, done.

Yup, that’s the place. I think the salesman was being straight with me when he said it’s the bosses car, offered to give him a call and ask, everything’s for sale at the right price, right? I don’t think you’d be able to get it for a steal though, the guy clearly has a clue about cars. I never even noticed that! Awesome plate.

Spotted this in a Dunedin used car showroom.. E30 F/L Manual coupe, pretty tidy, only a 316i but still a nice car. Interior was almost spotless. Car has a “sold” sign on it, but the salesman told me it’s the bosses car and when I asked if it was for sale and he said you never know!
