Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

Nah, just trying to find where the reserve is set, without “accidentally” ending up owning it! -
Yup, exactly. Most want to go for the whole trifecta, discount on the new purchase, over-valuation of their car then interest free credit for the changeover!!

I’m just trying to think of another type of goods where part exchange (UK) or Trade in (NZ) is common place? Struggling to think of anything outside the automotive sector, possibly farm machinery, diggers, etc but kind of linked. What people think their trade is worth is always an absolute minefield.

As long as you don’t mention the 2.8 stroker under the bonnet! @Driftit Remember when you could buy a very good E30 to turn into a series car for $3k? Look what you can get for that money now... I was going to say it wasn’t that long ago, then I started counting the years and realised that I am officially old. -
Official statement from BMW Group NZ: “BMW confirms that a fire incident occurred over the weekend involving a BMW i3. The vehicle, which is over seven years of age, was privately imported into New Zealand by the owner and was not purchased through an authorised BMW dealer in New Zealand. We are not aware of the vehicle ever having been serviced by any member of our authorised BMW dealer network in this country; however, we understand that the owner chose to recently have the vehicle’s servicing carried out by an independent repairer.”

It’s ok, I don’t think many people have spotted it... only 178 watchers. -

I know it’s a coupe and a manual, but... 316i, bottle caps, cracked dash, pretty basic, 173k kms Is that really worth $15k..? Let’s see what the auction ends up at. -
Another good bugger gone from the world, RIP Darryl indeed. Had the pleasure of his company, and laid back approach to scrutineering, at Manfeild for a good number of years.

Yup, lots of car for the money. It’s got a few bits and pieces on it, but there are a few goodies that are missing. Comfort Seats, with the ventilation, and massage if possible is almost a must have on a 7-series, soo much better than the sports seats.

4-pot petrols have a bad rep, the 4-pot diesels are good. I would suggest a 320d might be the answer.

Wish BMW NZ franchises did deals like this

If you’re in Aucks then it might be worth checking with East Auckland BMW, they were doing some sharp fixed-price servicing to build their customer base. -

Rich Oxton’s one is the Tech II on TradeMe, Linked by Southerner above..? Don’t think he’s got a Tech Wan as well. The one I saw isn’t Mr Oxton’s though. Price was in line with the asking numbers on the TradeMe listings and relevant to its condition. Trying not to give too much away as it was in confidence, not trying to be a dick. If yours is a NZ new M325I that is driveable then I would suggest the insurance should be $25k+. Might be worth getting a valuation for agreed value insurance. You don’t want the “it’s a 35 year old BMW so it’s only worth $3k” letter if things go wrong. -

Another NZ M325i Tech Wan spotted in a dealership, black, very, very tidy condition. In for WoF and service as it’s in the process of being sold (has deposit taken). -

And rarer too apparently... Didn’t the Tech 2 body kit end up being available on other models at the end, so it was no longer “exclusive” to the M325i? Pretty sure only the M325I had the Tech I kit. -

^^price of $18k includes $7k of BBS RS tax! -
One (not so) very careful owner... never been raced or rallied.😜

Got it a bit dirty / bit stuck on 90 mile beach You can’t quite make out all the salt and sand all over it from the photo, but it’s got into a lot of places. In all honesty, even though it’s a FWD and not xDrive, it performed pretty well on the soft stuff. I only got stuck when I did something silly and managed to get it in-stuck pretty easily. Traction control was working pretty hard on some parts, but the electronics did their stuff and got me out the other side.

E36 M3 EVO - Have i ruined my life?
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to Funkyflynz's topic in General Discussion
Probably for the half cage and bucket seats. No biggie to get an authority card, especially as you are planning on entering events anyways. -
Yeah, exactly. Thread is turning into “things you could buy for the same money as a V10 M5 Touring, that aren’t (as cool as) a V10 M5” Like a lot of classic Bimmers, such as E30 M3, etc, there are lots of arguably better value alternatives. But if you WANT the classic Bimmer, that is the only car that will scratch that itch.

Still True? BMW CBS maxes out at 300,000 kms?
E30 325i Rag-Top replied to M3AN's topic in General Discussion
It may be showing 26,000km now, but the chances are it will count down to zero in much less than that distance. Thats how I believe the logic works - start at the max recommended distance, then every time there is driving to reduce the time to service - ie short cold trips or hard racing (ring Taxi) the amount of kms to go is reduced accordingly, so you get down to zero quicker. I don’t think it has a predictive calculation, like the fuel range for example, that says based on your driving it will be xx,000kms to go. -
Which version of apps are you trying to use, the existing “BMW Connected” app is about to be discontinued, there is a new “My BMW” which I believe allows you to change the location, ie the country you are in. For remote updates you would need to be connected on the app, but I’m not sure if you would have any updates available as they are released by chassis number.

The service indicator lights in just about E30 I’ve ever driven have always been lit up, it’s such a problem I can hardly bring myself to drive them. Explains why they are so cheap to buy now. -
I’ll see your V10 sedans and raise you a V10 wagon, spotted at Hampton Downs. It’s For Sale as well, i know the owner.
