  1. Had a look around at his E91s when hunting for one, lots of oil leaks and green coolant.. think they do maintenance in house Was one of the less slimey dealers though.
  2. I wouldnt touch cheap brembo rotors after the nightmare I had with them, 1st set rusted in a week and ran out all kinds of crazy (with a proper bed in). Replaced with a second set, and same thing instant heavy rust, and crazy shuddering/squeeling/nastiness. It was genuinely scary to use the brakes and was barely drivable. Glenn stuck some ATE units on (From BMW workshop parts from memory, price wasnt bad) 30,000km later they still look and work mint.
  3. S65,6 speed manual, M3 flares, E9x m3 suspension, paint it carbon black on some nice staggered 18s. keep the wool seat covers.
  4. Try take it to BM workshop, it likely has a duff sensor or something. Ive seen it before where reseting the adapted map to default solves the problem temporarily.
  5. Im on the hunt for the same, lemme know if you find a good source. My E91 is all wired up for it, just no bar.

    Air compressors

Im in need of a 240V compressor, something that just works and can spit out enough air for occasional home gamer Have a metric shed load of air tools from previous life, drills/diegrinders/hammers etc. Its not going to get a daily use, so dont want to blow a lot of cash on it, something thats on wheels so I can throw it outside the shed when being used, and stored inside. Any suggestions?
  7. Hence spreading his name around, his social media presence is already skyrocketing, its nearly quadrupled in a week. I think he needs to go do more public debates with the other candidates, as that will get him some real world attention as he is a waaaay better public speaker than JT or Goff.
  8. You'll want to get it up on a hoist etc, have a yarn to bmworkshop etc and get them to do a PPI
  9. Looks good, and is priced right. Get someone who knows E9x's and N52s to have a look over it, they're solid cars but its easily possible to pay the asking price again in repairs (and for relatively mundane things)
  10. Kick ass, Ive been hovering around the centric site and found the rear end 42mm piston but nothing else. Thanks!
  11. I guess the dust seals have been gone for a while, everything below the piston seal looks fine, just black grime above it. Nah havent tried BMW directly yet, will do tomorrow. 28/32/36mm
  12. Toasted ceramics (and seals), still hunting for p/n of OEM pistons, no joy.
  13. Mayor makes 300k a year or so, and its not set by the council, its a stupid amount of money especially considering the results and stupidity that previous mayors babble while getting that pay cheque! Craigs addressed the payrate a few times, has no power to change it, but intends to be very philanthropic Go check out his ideas, particularly around things like motorsport (western springs) and public groups, and his approach to fixing the ACC in a similar way to how you would fix a broken machine, before you throw him in with the other "independents" who are waving banners for causes. He really does have a chance of getting in, if his profile is raised in the media.
  14. Its only a two horse race if the media only show two horses, spreading his name, getting people talking about him and forcing the media to pick up on it is how it gets changed. I dont know anyone who actually wants Goff or Tamihere, but they dont know there is actually a third option (well there are 21 of them, but the rest are all just waving flags for various causes) Craig Lords got enough sanity behind him, and can absolutely kill it in making public addresses (Goff and JT got boos and jeers, CL was getting rounds of applause from Greypower!), to get a large amount of people to back him, he just needs to get his face out there and to do it without a massive marketing budget.
  15. Without getting political and way off topic, if you're in Auckland and vote, Craig Lord is after your support. Not the usual B-grade politcian, but an engineer and motorsport commentator, so is struggling to get his face out there as doesn't fit the conventional mould for a politician. Sane ideas, has some credibility, and likes playing with cars. Check him out (his first public speech is on faceballs, made Goff and JT look like amateurs) https://www.craiglord.nz/ https://www.facebook.com/CraigLordMayor2019/ Mods - Please delete if not allowed, Im in no way affiliated with Craig, just many of his ideas and views likely fit in with many on this forum, and he needs a hand to get shed done
  16. Its a good looking engine with all the plastic removed. Oil filter looks to be in a prick of a spot?! under/behind the manifold?
  17. Has anyone come across a source for stock replacement OEM pistons? I cant find a part break down for them anywhere.. Going to rebuild these, new seals etc etc. Some of the ceramic insulators on top of the pistons are starting to crumble, not horrifically but a couple are missing chunks. Cant really justify blowing 4-500 USD on stoptech/racebrakes stainless pistons, but new OEM ones might be an option?
  18. New little project to potter away with. Strip, media blast, repaint phoenix yellow and rebuild them as BMWP units.

    Quick rant thread.

Call up wrecker for part, N52 rocker cover, asks for payment ($180) first. Transfer funds, go to pick it up a day later and the part is more busted than the original, so refuse it. 3 weeks later still no refund...... One more day then I rubbish you online.

    N46B20

Im not familiar with the N46, but tinkered around a few N52s, step one would be to do the vanos relearn with ista+ and see if that solves it (its one click). If its doing something like hitting the stops before it expects too, the voltage sag when that occurs could throw an error like the above, and wouldnt be a continuously occuring fault.
  21. Easier, and more happy to oversteer Vs just light up one tyre. I run 235/35/19s and its pretty balanced, and it has enough torque to have fun, even with "wide" rubber. Definitely go for a square tyre setup, Ive run 215 / 245 for a few weeks while wheels were getting refurbed and it sucked, understeer as soon as loaded up in a corner. Honestly, Id just grab the whole B1 kit in one go, but provided your original shocks etc arent flogged just doing the diff first is probably a good step.
