  1. panelbeater said no point in claiming, because even if they needed to paint it it would still be less than my excess ($300) so I left it with them today and voila, looks mint as in the end they had to sand it off and buff it
  2. ah yep, did the cold turkey thing February 2006 and haven't looked back I found the first 3 days the worst next couple of weeks was tough but once I got to a month it was going really well after 2 months I didn't have any cravings and was able to hang out with my mates who smoke (in the house too ) I actually found the worst part was when I watched TV or a movie and one of the characters is smoking (hint, don't watch Band of Brothers for the next few months) Graham is right on the money with everything he has said here if you get in the right mindset, you can do it my old boss, she gave up so she could have a 2nd child she gave up for a total of 2 years, and then one day at work she started smoking again because her friend had just been hired in the same office and is a smoker; my boss wanted to socialise with her friend every hour and the only way she thought she could do that was to go have a smoke weak

    Honda M3

"it's totally converted" so they converted it to rear wheel drive, installed an M3 engine and components, and installed an M3 interior? wow that would've cost a lot ... a lot more than just buying an M3

  8. well I can tell you it aint going to fall off, and very unlikely it'll get stolen because they'll be damn tough to get off that tape is mega strong my old plates took nearly an hour to get off (have euro plates now) and they had had the tape holding them on for about 18 months, had been through many washes (usually fortnightly) and lots of rain I reckon it would be easier to steal if they were screwed on lol
  9. yea the Pulsar is a rather unforgettable car haha just kinda blends in with everything else

  12. it could possibly be tree sap but whatever it is, it is set hard on there I tried carefully picking at it and didn't get anywhere, was worried I'd take the paint off too I'm going to contact my insurer tomorrow, probably going to take it to a panelbeater to sort out
  13. well this is definitely the last time I ever park my car in public again it was fine on Thursday night when I gave it a quick wipe down to get rid of the muddy cat paw prints take it to work on Friday (99% of the time I use the gf's car - this was the first time I had used mine in a long long time) and park it in Wellington CBD (just off The Terrace) Saturday I go to clean it and find it like this

  15. Um yea so I was cleaning my car yesterday and as I was drying it I noticed what looks to be glue on the paint. Not a lot, but looks like 2 lines going down and a bit of a blob where the line stops. Any suggestions on the best products to try and get this stuff off? I've been told to try this - http://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/laundry_and_...id=1&sort=0

might be full of dust you can try opening it and use canned air from dickie smith (do not use a vacuum or one of those static dusters!) if you, or you know someone who is electronically minded, then you can put heat sinks and better fans inside the xbox (my mate did this successfully)

  23. a couple of mates were driving over the Rimutaka's to go see another mate in Masterton they were getting tailgated and full beamed by a guy in a BA Falcon ute so my mate did some creative driving, couldn't lose the Falcon though they get over the hill and pull over to have a "chat" with the Falcon driver but instead the Falcon driver just came at my mate, wildly swung at him my mate ducked it, and his passenger ran around and king hit the Falcon driver, broke his nose in one hit and they took off cops talked to my mates a couple of weeks later, but no charges were ever laid
