  1. not really trying to start (another) debate about how bad runflats are. I just have some in the correct size and was wondering if i can mount them on the wheels I have. still dont have the answer i need so i will ask bridgestone. ps. wheels are breytons ((germany) so I would say they are of good quality, unlike some cheaper taiwanese aftermarket wheels

in a parallel universe, friendly beers are asking on the forums if they are fans of dave...
  3. Ive read that some run flat tyres dont need to be mounted on special rims, some tyres do. hence i was asking specifically for the re050a rft's
  4. Ive done a fair bit of googling but no definitive answer. I want to know if I can fit Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RTF on normal aftermarket wheels? I will only do this if it is 100% safe and okay to do. Thanks
  5. oh nah not my car then. haha. i do miss my boston green e36..
  6. ^ sounds a lot like what my old e36 boston green needed haha
  7. .. oh man that looks great... would love to fly down and drive this up
  8. trademe dont give a fk about your 1 bad feedback or that scamming trader. at most they will suspend their membership and the offender will just create another one. even if you are scammed for hundreds of dollars trademe wont disclose the scammers personal details to you and tells you to go to the police. its a buyer beware kind of deal with trademe and i would way rather take 1 bad feedback than pay for something via internet banking to some stranger who has only had the membership for a month and a few stars. dont worry about a few bad feedbacks its really not a big deal and potential buyers or other traders you deal with all go through the same thing and know that you're only a risk if you have multiple and consecutive bad feedbacks. the odd one here and there means nothing.
  9. the best thing to do is be on high alert for idiot drivers and avoid them like the plague. keep a distance which you think is ridiculous - it may just save your life. there is not a HUGE difference in arrival time/journey time if you are going 95kmh for a few kms or doing 110kmh. better to be safe than risk being a part of some idiots mistake
  10. i wonder if by "fastidiously maintained" they are actually referring to the $1500 spent on tyres and brakes..?
  11. better. haha ill just stick with my standard govt issue plates
  12. no offence but i can tell what the plate is despite your mosaic(?) thingy over it...
  13. not a m coupe but a 3.0si which has the n52 3L motor instead of the m54 3L. m coupe has the s54 3.2L.
  14. just did this on a friends car with a heatgun, acidic disolving solution, dental floss and a microfibre rag. all good no marks
  15. Theres always two sides to a coin and I am sure that there will be some good reasons for taking out a mechanical warranty for your 135i. Definitely speak to Glenn and get his advice too before you make any decisions! edit: my experience was with Janssens - average. I have heard good things about Autosure though
  16. - mechanical warranty cost $2-3000 for 3 years - servicing requirements $1000+- every 12 months or 15,000 kms - transmission fluid service $750+- - can only claim for one fault/issue at a time with an excess of roughly $250 basically, in my opinion, the costs of the above are usually more than enough to cover most minor faults that you will have with a car thats only done 60k's. For example, if you had a faulty sensor that cost $200, you wouldnt claim that because the excess is higher. Also, because you need all servicing to be signed off by a registered and authorised service centre, you basically cant do your own oil and filter changes. (Well, you can, but you will still need to fullfill the authorised service every 12 months/15,000kms requirement otherwise they wont accept your claim in the event of a problem) You can save a lot of money by buying parts from overseas and DIY for most maintenance things if you are so inclined/willing and if this is the case, then mechanical warranty is not really suitable/beneficial. If you have a lot of money and just want to pay someone to do the servicing, then buying mechanical warranty basically will save your ass if you engine/trans blows up. but even then, usually it only pays out upto $5000 (depending on which company you choose) and im pretty sure the 135i engine alone costs more than that even if its a rebuild in which case you still will have to fork out extra on top of the payout. In my personal experience, I paid just over $2000 for mechanical warranty and only ever used it once for a faulty fuel pump which cost me just the excess of $250, but the total bill was $1800 or so (repaired at the stealerships service centre). So in the end it wasnt TOO bad but to be honest, I could have easily done it myself and the part would have probably cost me like $600. My answer is NO to mechanical warranty!
  17. bump. feel free to make offers
  18. Sam @ OCD told me he had to cut the **** out of it and there are still a few little dimples but they are not visible unless you're REALLY looking for it. John u pretty much hit the nail on the head.. just looking at the results, it really needs to be done on the whole car. all in due time eh?
