Just waiting for my car at andre simms mitsubishi. Gettinf alignment done by Peter Alder as recommended. Had a chat and he was a nice guy and seemed like he knew what he was doing. Will post up results once i get the car back. Quoted price was $85+gst which doesnt seem too bad compared to those run of the mill alignment tyre shops that use some random trainee dude.

There are always "better" examples. For any car. But this on the OP has mentioned is quite cheap ish. But bear in mind that if something is cheap there must be a reason for it. Pre purchase inspection is always recommended.

I think its more a case of.. want something you dont have but once you get it the novelty factor wears off?

Make sure u have some money on the side for repairs or maintenance. Nothing is as good as it first seems.

Will you be keeping the facelift look or prefacelift coupe look like e46 m3? Always wanted to do this but not in the right financial position for it. Will be keen to see what happens with this. Cant wait!

Haha thats right. Last time i checked repco had castrol edge fully synthetic 5-30 amongst other stuff for around $50 per 5L. You should get 2 bottles 10L should take 7.5L. Store the rest for next time so u only need to buy 1 bottle

I can guarantee you will get 10 different answers and go search google to get another 100 more. Make up your own mind. Some say castrol 5-3 some say mobil 1 0-40 some say penrite list goes on and on

10k for urs was a good price then and i doubt you will get it now considering 540s are advertised for 10-12k and 528s are so damn cheap. Repair first unless it costs like 1k. Then mention it and drop the price so new owner can decide whether to fix or save 1k.

If you can get the side fenders for cheap then its worth doing. make sure its the right colour. lots of diff silver options. how bad is the damage? is it something that can be looked over or it definitely needs fixing cuz its an eye sore? i would say about $8-9k easily but 10 or even more if potential buyers are in the market. i personally would avoid $1. also is it nz new or jap import? service history receipts?

it felt good and bad at the same time. hard to describe really. its been a few years since ive owned and driven a 328ci so i forgot how it felt especially coming from a e46 330i sedan msport and now a mb.. it seemed like a solid car good handling and ride despite 20" wheels. it was basically just the steering stiffness and the heavy pedal that didnt even "recognise" anything until it was maybe 70% on the floor. will be very careful if i decide to go e46 as they are getting quite old now and there are heaps that would have been neglected!
