  2. ed30 is miles better than a base model. its a good compromise if you cant find a msport one within budget.

  5. No worries. I do agree 17 is the better size on an e36.
  6. I might be selling a set of 18x8 et20 style 135s if interested.

I will need to jump on realoem to find the parts. Good idea on the trans mounts. Hopefully its not too hard to do it all. i think weight distribution is pretty good for both e60/61. It feels good to me on my butt-o-metre :)

Absolutely. If i was in any other car i would have a sore back for sure. It was indeed magical. And this car needs engine mounts and probably a suspension refresh to bring it up to scratch but it was still very comfortable. Its really an amazing platform and the price just makes it even more attractive now that they have pretty much bottomed out in value.

Found it on trademe, it was being sold in Wellington. Made contact, flew down, picked it up and drove it up. I went down with a friend but I drove the whole way without being tired or sore anywhere. Its coming along nicely now with a good tidy up. Its really a great car. I was sold because its the facelift and the nice space grey colour with huge panoramic sunroof. (p.s. Everything is for sale at the right price )
  11. i would buy it at $4400 if it was in auckland..
  12. How to take photos when selling a car 101
  13. whats your budget? someone else is looking too That purple one listed by HellBM is my old clubsport. awesome car and been resurrected by HellBM with manual conversion so all good to go.
  14. Cant understand why they keep saying “but you will need to check again” if it has been “fixed” Definitely an avoid for me
  15. yea I know, what I meant is that statement from the seller is bloody useless. almost just sounds like they are trying to flog off a known bad car by feigning ignorance and saying "do your own research."
  16. wut? look at all the sales platforms. generally the ones listed on here are better maintained. Forum > TM > turners > FB but some good ones could come up on FB (unlikely) as some sellers want to avoid the listing fees and try their luck on FB.
  17. Being an msport or not is a big deal for me and a lot of people. There are so many little things that make it just that much better. Sports seats, anthracite interior fabric, usually non woodgrain trim (although this is easily changed), nicer steering wheel, nicer looking bodykit, sports suspension (a lot of non m sport cars may still have this), usually nicer design of wheels (also easily changed), generally non amber indicators (although can look nice on a blue or darker coloured car) etc. Having owned plenty of e46s, they are good reliable cars if well maintained and in order to do so will have cost or will cost money in the future. Best thing to do is find a few and go for a test drive, check service history and calculate what else needs to be done and see if the maths adds up in your budget. nz new is always good but not crucial, condition is everything and i wouldnt rule anything else or make any decisions before seeing it in person. my opinion, base spec silver is boring, undesirable, probably hard to sell but doesnt mean its a bad car. Will probably still drive the same or similar if you only care about mechanical aspect. If you do care about looks then no point to go through the trouble of converting body parts, not like there isnt enough m sport examples around to pick from.

  19. Although it looks like a nicely maintained example its definitely not a desirable spec so there is only value for someone who really wants a vert with tan interior (not many). If YOU like the car and if YOU are happy to pay $9000 and are aware that these cars are not cheap to run (budget $2000 or so per year to maintain properly), then it doesnt really matter what we or others think, as long as you are happy with it.
  20. You can in theory but might look odd
  21. hows your alternator/voltage etc. otherwise do you think it could be an overheating issue? try taking out the dvd cd as I have read that the laser on that could fail causing reboot.
