    KIWI1M

It was only listed for a few days max on here and on trademe IIRC then disappeared into the vortex then popped out the other end from manawatu bmw
  2. imo, the insurance should cover the true cost of what it would take to replace it like for like (and if not as close as possible).

    KIWI1M

The one that some of us would have seen listed for sale on the forum not long ago was definitely KIWI1M and correlates to the one I posted a photo of in this original post by BMW Manawatu. Not sure what HNQ984 is, must be a different example.
  4. Im just worried once i start ill end up having to alcantara everything else (aka money) but im keen. Let me know once youre ready to let it go!
  5. how much for the alcantara gauge pod (without stitching) once your one with the orange stitching arrives
  6. Honestly, it suits the character of the car and seeing as the rest of it is so modern eg zf8 not 6speed auto. Its a bit lighter for normal day to day driving and feels fine for that. Once you want a bit more control put it in sport mode and it tightens up and makes it heavier. This sports mode for steering was not my personal favorite in most cases, comfort setting was fine for 95% of the driving i did and i did a lot of driving around north island in mine including a lot of rural backroads it’s definitely not the same as the old hydraulic steering where you can feel every bump on the road which is both a good and bad thing depending on the situation.
  7. Headliner diy isnt too hard. All up $150 or less in parts and your time. I think price is high for non desirable spec and those kms and if it needs work.
  8. I knew I would only go for an LCI version as I despise the CCC iDrive and the facelift doorcards are just way nicer. The fact that this one has NZ Nav and Bluetooth adapter pre-installed is a big big win. Super stoked and have some wheels getting ready to go on soon before the next monthly meet up
  9. Nice choice on the engine. I really rate these highly in terms of performance and how it feels when driving. Super excited that its going into an e46 but its gonna have a lot of torque so need to make sure the chassis/rear subframe area is well reinforced.
  10. The paintwork has a lot of scratches but otherwise mechanically excellent. Drives perfect. new wof, 4 new tyres and alignment, full service history for last 5 years one owner since imported in 2015 and nothing that needs attention urgently. Big bonus is nz nav enabled and has bluetooth for calling and music streaming which isnt normally an option for E chassis CIC idrive so absolutely stoked. pretty damn happy with it and just puts a smile on my face when i drive it. in other news a $1 res popped up today: https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-2872228452.htm Lots of pros and little cons. Would be interesting to see how this auction goes.
  11. Make sure you replace the plastic charge pipe with a metal one if it hasnt already been done. Otherwise it will eventually blow and put the car in limp mode. keep up with regular oil changes. These engines run super hot almost 115-120dC so you dont ever want to pass the service interval. stage 1 tune highly recommended and dont need any other parts other than the charge pipe. Stage 2 is a bit more involved with more parts required.
  12. Done deal. Damn it feels good to be back in a NA 6. I missed this sound so much!
  13. Much superior in every respect:) Hope you get one. You will enjoy it as a daily. The F chassis is something else above the E.
  14. Its basically a two person wagon, comfortable for driver and passenger with plenty of boot space. But you can still take people in the back if required. Its honestly not thaaaaat small.
  15. Didnt update the thread much and got way off topic on second page but first page has my summary on it which is still pretty relevant Awesome car if it suits your lifestyle (as in hot hatch) Cant remember if I posted in the thread but the biggest downside of this car IMO is lack of a LSD which I feel would absolutely transform it. I was only running stage 1 tune (approx 220kW ATW) but if any more than that (stage 2) then it would be way too loose and potentially dangerous. Its one of the cars I held on to the longest (one and a half years) and I only sold it in order to cash up for a house deposit. If not I reckon I would have loved driving it even now, I even tried to buy it back a few months ago as it came back up for sale but the engine sounded a bit.. just couldnt do it. too risky. I miss this car a lot haha
  16. didnt it sell for 1k? if so he made $200 already and on the way to make another grand. from his POV hes winning. its just a pity it sold to a non-enthusiast who could have brought it back to life quite easily.
  17. willing to sell AA badge separately?

    E91 325i

Ive seen some mint E46 325i wagons come up and sell for around 7k not long ago.
  19. pretty sure this is the one I had on my watchlist on the last auction, reserve should be 8750 iirc.

    E91 325i

@SmithyInWellys old car. Hasnt had a good life it seems after it was sold..

    E91 325i

A 330i e91 wagon is a pretty rare find though..

    E91 325i

plenty of good places to buy parts. fcpeuro is my pick

    E91 325i

If I was buying this car, I would be fixing everything on this list, and obviously that needs to be reflected in the price imo but if the rest of the car is good then it still might work out cheaper than a different higher mileage one that potentially costs more/similar and you have peace of mind once these things are done. edit: I think that quote of $1850 isnt too bad all things considered. if you were to DIY it would save a few hundred but cost you hours in labour and the hassle of sourcing parts yourself etc.
