  1. might be worth upgrading the charge pipe as they are easily broken and will leave your car in limp mode (most likely) if it decides to blow up when you're driving. plenty of options out there, dont bother replacing with genuine part (plastic) get an upgrade one from VRSF, BMS, or even FTP is fine for this purpose. make sure you keep up with regular oil change with good quality oil and filter. dont ever pass 10,000km service intervals.

just looking on google maps from wellington to turangi, there is a big time difference of about an hour between going on SH1 vs SH2 + backroads. if we leave cbd around 11am, its going to be a long drive up if we decide to make a few stops along the way.

are the wheels brown/bronze? if so the colour is most likely marrakesh brown (bmw paint colour). yep thats the one. pretty sure i recognise this car from many years ago
  7. the crazy thing with these is that there isnt a huge price gap between the A5 3.2 and the S5. I personally think that the sportback 4 door shape is really nice.
  8. damn, that is a great appraisal for $250. very well done indeed edit: now the 38k doesnt seem so crazy does it
  9. i recall there was a cheap bbk off a 135 or similar a few weeks back on trademe. @Jacko?

Is SH2 to woodville/palmy more recommended above SH1? Not sure what "over the saddle" means googled it, saddle road lol. I do like the look of the back road to vinegar hill to join back up the SH1. from Waiouru, i can definitely go through ohakune up to nat park ways but been through here many times for snowboarding, is there any reason to avoid desert road to turangi and then taking a left instead of going to taupo? dont want/need to go through taupo been there plenty of times too.

Hi team, I may be looking at doing a drive from Wellington to Auckland (never done this drive before). What is the preferred route? Not necessarily looking for twistys, mainly looking at scenery and just overall nice drive. Will be in a heavy station wagon SH 1 to Turangi to 32 back to 1 through Hamilton? (fastest route on google maps and it looks like goes through desert road (never been through here before) SH 3 to Whanganui then off to SH 4 up past Taumaranui back to SH3 past Te Kuiti then 39 or 3 to Hamilton? Wont be too rushed for time, will aim to leave around noon and get back before end of the night same day. Cheers!
  15. being one of the earlier ones ('94), 3.0 instead of 3.2, and higher mileage will bring the price down a bit. I would have thought $20-25k depending on market demand. No harm in pricing it high because any interested party will get in touch and negotiate it to an acceptable price. Seems like prices of E36/E46/E9x M3's are all hovering around the similar mark nowadays but they are all so very different cars.

it may not be worth 80k but at $36k i think its an absolute bargain that is sure to appreciate over time given its well looked after (and enjoyed in between)

  18. Arent these more like $15k?
  19. biggest upgrade you can do would be to install an LSD, transfers all that power into actual usable power

  21. Having owned numerous R56's from the early 2007 upto the 2012 models, they do vary quite a bit depending on how its been looked after etc. The newer turbo ones are definitely nicer and more reliable engine but I wouldnt discount a well looked after pfl with the older engine. Its still a good car. The R56 is the "better" mini for sure, newer, better low end torque etc but the supercharged R53 is definitely fun and the noise is truly addictive. If I had to pick my order of preference it would be R56 JCW > R53 > R56 N18 > R56 N14
  22. ^you can take mine for a drive one day. Come to the meet and ill bring it out instead of the bmw
