  1. I want it! I just spent all my money on other things though dammit.

it doesn't, I run a v8 because the mileage I do a year means it is cheaper than a diesel due to the savings in rego. Of course that's because I do very little mileage, but still it means that the difference in cost is not proportional, as you have to factor the rego difference in too, which is a fixed cost.

I can back this up, my manual au xr6 is fantastic on long trips. Definitely under 8 when I don't thrash it. That's not driving like a nana either though.

If you are even considering towing a horsefloat then you want a proper 4wd. Something decently heavy. While a falcon or softroader may handle towing the weight, the handling will be compromised and it just doesn't feel safe at all. Especially because horses, unlike most loads, can and sometimes do move. Like swing their weight around, rocking the float. Our Range Rover Classic handles it perfectly fine though, it feels solid and safe under load, if a little underpowered but hey it's an 87 3.5l v8.
  5. Awesome doco. Made me want another E30
  6. Blue like red bull? That always looks good and makes me thirsty!

    $2mil investment $1mil house and land $2mil E30s
  8. Otherwise there is stag 4x4 in Auckland and another 3 or 4 up that way too.
  9. Manual? I need a new track car project lol
  10. It's running again! Turns out it was the coolant temp sensor. And a whole lot of other things. Long story short it's not a $1900 car anymore haha. But still worth every penny for the noise it makes!
  11. Almost any motorcycle, and probably cheaper on the gas than the corolla.
  12. Just be aware that aa plus only covers the first $800 of any tow etc. So not quite a rescue from anywhere to anywhere, but damn near the best you'll get. They only mentioned this to me last time I renewed, I'd always thought it was unlimited.
  13. I've used captain transporter, and had pretty good service. Called to check on status of my car and got a call back both from them, and from their contractor within 5mins. I paid about $480 or so from Porirua to Hamilton.

  15. Managed to get into the brewery tower yet?

    Sunroof delete

When I did it on my car we just drilled/grinder out the bracket (some bits it was easier to grind 99% out and leave the rest), then made up a new panel. A tack weld every few cms with plenty of time for the roof to cool between (to prevent warping) and then some nutech fiberglass reinforced filler to smooth it off. Ended up impossible to tell it had been done from the outside!
  17. I've always bought hoses from the dealer, they are usually quite reasonably priced. I.e bottom radiator hose for around $40 and misc vacuum hose for $12ish
  18. Does anybody know of any mechanics near Hamilton who have experience with the rover v8 engine? I'm a bit stumped to be honest, it's looking like airflow meter or the fuel pressure regulator. But I'm definitely not pro enough to test either of them myself.
  19. Some nice bikes being posted. I'm still on the old faithful GN250. Really should get around to getting my full licence so i can upgrade.
  20. Ok so I've sorted the ignition out, it's no longer a problem. Now I have a fuel problem. Way too much of it. I had soaking wet plugs, so I disconnected the cold start injector. No more wet plugs, but they foul up almost instantly when I let off the throttle after starting it. Any ideas? Re-condition injectors? It is better without the cold-start, but still a problem. Should I try hotter plugs?
  21. There are two types of manifold. The two bolt and the three bolt. Most 320i had one, most 325i had the other. Can't remember which was which, but my 325i exhaust on my 320i wouldn't have bolted up to my race car without changing the manifold.
  22. Cheers Jon, done the ignition module now and it's worse than before. I think I may have stuffed up the ignition timing so I'll need to sort that out. Spark is definitely stronger though.

    anyone on here

Being able to slow for a corner is one thing, but to prove it wasn't dangerous he would've had to have been able to come to a complete stop in the 200m visibility, so that if there was an obstruction blocking the entire road he would not slow to 120 and barrel straight into it...
  24. Also to be clear, red rear indicators are legal. Tinting orange ones red is technically not legal, as it is illegal to apply any sort of tint or paint over lights. Not that many people would ever know if the job is done tidily. Clear lenses with orange bulbs are totally ok as long as the lense meets the standard. Many cars have factory clear lenses with Amber bulbs.
  25. PS3 E30_BMW_320i (I was a late adopter and it was bloody hard to find a free handle to use) Black ops (original) and sometimes gtav, find it kinda boring though just more of the same as single player really. Don't play often, not enough time.
