looks like it was very tidy. Will the panels be up for sale. In particular doors and bonnet?

Cheers this is exactly the info I was after. So what I am trying to reduce is radiant and ambient heat from inside the engine bay As far as I know -Ceramic coatings will not do much if anything to reduce radiant heat but should do a little bit for ambient heat. -Heat wrap will reduce radiant and ambient heat Because I would not consider my headers to be a disposable item. I also do not want to have to check them for cracks every year, I don't think I should be using heat wrap. Currently I am thinking I'll coat them in VHT and set up some heat shields like in an e46. I'm sure the shield above the headers will be a straight bolt on for the m52 I'd like to copy the way the brakes and diagnostic port are boxed off from the engine as well Any input on if you think i'm doing this correct or not would be appreciated

Had they backed out completely?
-
Will this really give any effect to performance? Or any benefits to be had other then appearance? Options so far are to send to HPC or procoat. I'm sure they'll make the headers look good. But if that was what I wanted I'd of posted in the appearance part of the forum. Will their coatings really be any better then getting some vht ceramic coat and doing it myself? Heat wrap is probably not really an option for me. This is because I'm too worried about the headers cracking. This is going on to e36 s50b32 headers if it makes any difference

Both sets of subframe bushes will all most completely eliminate movement. The more stiff the more you'll feel the vibrations coming from the subframe. Like I said in your other thread there was a problem with one brand of bushes where the washer underneath would bend around the nut or bolt. I take it that your going to some sort of adjustable height coilovers from the linear rate springs? Are you using the standard m3 shocks?

What will the car be used for? What is your current setup? 'urethane' 'polyurethane'

Manual, Lsd, Suspension... Done Next car I buy will be an e34 Looking forward to what happens to this

Oil pump nuts are known for backing out of m60's just like on m50/2's But i'm not sure if that would explain the light going out when you were going again.

Is this your first megasquirt project? Have all ways wanted to have a play with building up a megasquirt and attempting to tune it myself. There'll be a lot more reading needed before I do jump into it. Any more planned for this car?

I've got some powerflex ones that I still need to install. Will you be changing the diff bushes as well? I'm yet to decide if i'll solid mount it or not From everything i've read on the internet most urethane bushes are the same as the others. Only difference is that some use the factory washer/limiter underneath the bush. Others (not sure which brand) use their own washer/limiter that is known to not be as strong and bend around the nut and bolt. To fix this people have used a more thick washer. This requires using a larger bolt.

bolt on supercharger kit
thorburn replied to NA325i's topic in Forced Induction & Performance Tuning
Most of the m62 and m90's have a really long nose. If you were to go for any the merc's have a really compact m62 and would probably be one of the better picks. Or if your lucky enough to find one of the bigger amg mercs with a lysholm supercharger you'll get a lot more air and it'll be a lot more efficient. The mazda eunos 800 has a smaller lysholm supercharger. They are a bit hard to find info on. -
Converting to adjustable coilovers

Thank you Quinn your a legend. Chris sure knows his stuff -
Mr. Maori you need your chill pill

Read back over the stuff that has all ready been posted. If you don't have the money don't buy things that you do not need. Are you really questioning if you should rego your car or get itb's that will not work for a long time to come and will not add any power?

Converting to adjustable coilovers
thorburn replied to thorburn's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Do you have any more information on the v-max coilovers? From what I have seen I don't think they are what I am after. I'd prefer to have shocks with the sway bar links on them. They seem to be a more form>function setup. I get this impression just from the lack of information shared on their website. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. They're a very good price though. -
I'm plannning on selling off the m3 H&R sport springs to be replaced with a coilover sleeve kit. Currently the idea is to get a coilover conversion kit through ground control. As seen here: http://www.ground-control-store.com/produc...p/II=563/CA=246 1. Are there any products in New Zealand that are more affordable with the same quality? I've enquired with stocks and autolign so far. After it's all been added up they come to about the same price as the ground control setup. 2. Can anyone recommend anyone for welding up the front struts? 3. Is their anything about the ground control kit that might make it hard for me to get a cert? 4. If you don't have keeper springs do you need to compress the spring to raise the height anything above its lowest position? Any help would be much appreciated James

The rears are still height adjustable. You might want to look into this more

More likely then not, your going to loose performance. Change the ecu first So your going to risk destroying a new motor?(destroy is probably an exaggeration) Change the ecu first This could just be my opinion but your doing this wrongBut please do prove me wrong though. I'm just an internet jockey and have minimal real world experience. My opinions are large and a lot of the time meaningless

I've got a 328 exhaust that i'd happily part with. From headers to back box 2 pipes the whole way down with the H crossovery bit. From what i've read on uk forums it is a slight performance increase. Still has old old cats which I was going to replace with resonators.

Because this is purely for noise and making the car run worse. You might as well just use a square box. My vote is a heineken box soaked in epoxy. Personally i'd like to know if your car will run at all. Good luck

Where did you get them coated? Also would like to know why your using that exhaust manifold. Is it a bit cramped in there
