Looks realy good. You've inspired me to get a move on with mine

Most m52b25 (323 e36) have an alloy block. About 20 kilos lighter then the earlier blocks. They are not as strong as the earlier blocks though. Overheated alloy blocks are a much bigger problem then an overheated iron block. All m50-52 engines are known for having cooling system problems which can and do cause them to overheat. Where jacko has said the 323 is strangled is kind of correct. If you look at a dyno of both engines you find that the later model makes better power down low (where most people drive their car everyday). The early 325's do better in the upper rev range. This is because of different intake manifolds. The 323's have a more narrow intake that increases the air velocity at low rpms I think it more comes down to how you want to use the car. Really there isn't a lot of difference between the m50b25, m52b25 and the m52b28. Having never driven the b20's I wont comment on them. I'm also only talking about the m50b25tu (the one with vanos) If i was looking for a new e36 right now i'd be making sure it didn't have a jatco gearbox and the service history shows no signs of the engine overheating. The reason I wouldn't go for a jatco gearbox is because they are known to cause trouble. Unless you plan on replacing it. Atleast $1500 for a good replacement

You state that they are light weight. Would you be able to give exact figures? What are the specs on these? 17x9 et22?
-
how much? and where do I pick them up from
-
At a guess from the photo an e82 or 88 1 series Out of interest where did you buy them from? pretty piss poor instructions. That is assuming they are an aftermarket product

Depends how fast you get through your milk I do exactly the same currently. But I only muck around in spirts and would like the convenience of a bottle always being around. What I should be asking is are there any draw backs of purchasing a bottle and having it refilled. Supagas seems to have about the same price for bottle filling as BOC's bottles. And at $13 a month a bottle will soon pay itself off. What other companies do personal bottle refills

So far i've attacked one with brake cleaner, degreaser and scrubbed on it for far too long. Is there any product that I can soak them in that will strip 14 years of brake dust off?
-
Find the other rc? I had mine done in satin black. They look ok ,but with yours having the concave I hope you get something that reflects the light better and shows them off

Just wondering what companies people use, if you own or rent your bottles, and the prices you get for co2 or argoshield(or whatever other companies call their argon and co2 mixes) Currently I am renting from BOC and I was wondering if there are any other worthwile alternatives

Are you using the design you last posted? What will the airbox and mold be made from? Is the mold going to be multiple pieces? any chance of seeing how it is going to go together

this thread is really lacking in the picture department

I think OP was thinking to cut off where the praying mantis is. Lower it down and re-weld it on. I'm quite sure this would need a cert.
-
welcome, any chance of some more specs on the car. In particular what you've done with the suspension
-
Are you meaning you want to lower where your spring seats on the shock? If so you might have clearance problems with your wheel. I thought that normally when someone says they want to shorten a shock the shock body is moved further down. Thus making your shock useable (not bottoming out) at a lower ride height. This would not change the ride height.

i'll have to keep an eye on this. Good luck with the sound deadening. Wish I knew where to get dry ice before I took mine out. Heat gun and scrapers was very messy and time consuming.

As art I can appreciate it. As a vehicle... I'm just glad i'm not sharing the road with it.

-
Are you sure this is right? http://www.aa.co.nz/motoring/tips/ask-jack...d-no-spare.aspx AA could be wrong. I've been through a few warrents with no spare tyre in the boot. I could have been lucky. ... or are you talking about just changing the tip?

I didn't know the b30 cranks were nitrided. Good luck with both goals
-
Welcome Look up what 3pedals has posted in the performance section. He has said plenty of times about the gains he got from using m3 headers and exhaust Wayney is getting some m3 replica headers made. Might want to send him a PM Genuine m3 exhausts very rarely pop up

I'm just going to say what we are all thinking, what about the shaved bonnet?
