just use as many bolts as you can.I dont think the strength of the construction will be an issue at all, just make sure the bolts are well threaded into their holes
-

-

i also beleive that the e34 and e39 are sensitive to tyre size.If you are running say m5 size wheels and tyres that may not be the best handling setup with std "alignment"My e34 was prone to tramling and less desireable traits as the tyres wore -
123d is a whole diffferent ball game, what i said above plus!!!

i had a 120d older diesel hatch.Do not be concerned about the diesel chatter you dont really hear it from inside.Just remember you will have the on road rolling performance of a 3.0 but only paying the petrol bill of a 1.5.My round town consumption was 6.5 l 100 k and on a trip it was easy to get 5.5 .So on a trip you could go 900 km on the wee 45 litre tank. However i truly beleive a diesel likes longer runs.Dont buy a diesel if its going to get lots of short runs.A diesel is more expensive to register(no acc levey on diesel at the pump) and you pay $62 every 1000 ks in ruc.In the time i had mine it only used oil and tyres.(about 80 000 k (80-k to 160 k)Most of them will be runflats which were a harsh ride. lso most diesel pumps are messy(clatex at kaiwharar is cjeapest) and i hate the smell of diesel on the hands which is almost inevitable when you fill up cos the pumps are covered in it

are you talking an e39 530d?
-
i was quite impressed with my little 120d for both economy and useable performance.I can imagine a 530d or 535d being quite nice thankyou. The latter even less likely for 5 k tho!
-
a 530 d for 5k?Good luck with that mate...if you can all power to ya!
-
the caltex self service in kaiwhara is very cheap(for wellington) I know there is a gull in Levin.Where there is a gull station prices tend to be cheaper.
-
exactly why i put the info out there mate.I am not sure 5 l 100 k The 120 averaged 6.5 l 100 k in normal running,5.5 without trying on a trip.As you know it was manual but it had very high gearing
-
its possibly due to an actual puncture if the tps system has illuminated.Try a reset on the tps once you have either fixed or eliminated a puncture as a cause.
-
fyi martyyn ruc is 6.2 c a kilometre now, rego is much cheaper than it used to be for a diesel
-

has it got a decent set of Horns? And a few cm of the wires please ie enough to splice into another set of wires
-
dont turn this into a manual vs auto. Its enough for me that you can buy many models in manual that you cant here. And i merely stated that.
-
dare i say it.many models ARE manuals in the UK
