    Quick rant thread.

s[eaking of insurance, its a bit like a cafe or restaurant....they only as good as your last experience.A few years ago i had a mishap in the e34,This was late on boxing day.A phone call on the morning of the 27th of dec had a flat deck tow truck knocking on my door within 30 minutes. The car was towed and half fixed before i actually had filed an actual claim! A week a go(a wednesday morning) the mrs had a small accident and rear ended another vehicle. His tow bar went straight through the radiator.Filed on line clam that night.saturday the car is still sitting on the side of the road, vero assures us tow company has been advised.Tow comany hasnt read their emals.Get a phone call on about tuesday from the panel beater...is this your car?,whats it doing here.....not a good start compared to my previous experience with Vero

  16. the masses? The masses shy away from exotic old bmw like the plague!
  17. that would be 1 and 7/8, there are two options. There is a kit called a converti ball(or similar) where you can change the ball .I had my BMW tow ball machined by a local engineering company to match the converti ball shape so i could have either 50mm or 1 7/8 ball on the car if you have your own trailer you can have a coupling which can be flipped to be either 1 7/8 or 50mm.Hire trailer are almost certain to be 1 and 7/8(at least in Wellington)
  18. jeepers i though i would know most 9/18

    leather or not

leather is very family friendly in that any spill can just be wiped of.cons are it can be slippery. If looked after will outlast cloth seats.Be careful tho of sharp or abrasive items. In summer can be hot initially but not in the same way as vinyl(do any cars have vinyl seats),and can be chilly in winter.
  20. i had a 120d hatch.I am 6 3,its a bit tight to actually get in but once in the seats allow adkustment for the tallest drivers. It cam make things tight for the back seat. Its a small car, they are nice to drive, nice brakes ,steeriing and handling.I didnt find the clutch heavy, mind you i had a 535 manual before, that was heavy
  21. bloody useful chart info tho!
  22. may I suggest you fill out your profile to the extent that your car model and location show up?
