yes thats the lil diesel.i got it chipped(80% i think) very soon after i got it,i dont know if thats made it more or less economical,it revs a lot faster and a bit higher than it did previuosly.consumption is very consistent,i think that is a trait of common rail diesels.it s doesnt really make much diffrerence how you use it.

i dont see what is special about the e87 compared to anu other car.As a golf owner you may be disapointed in the internal space of an e87.an inline engine and gearbox makes the cabin relatively small. The brakes and steering and balance is really nice tho.It will be very difficult to find a manual one

fwiw my obc says 6.5 average and seems to match pretty well what i am actually getting

My new E31, Breaks issue
kiwi535 replied to vincentfrandsen's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
the seat thing is probaly the fact that the cable inner has pulled out of the fitting on the seat.Googlre bmw seat twist,or bmw seat fix and you will probably find something.I think you shorten the cable outer which allows the inner to now reach the fitting. -
not surprised, they drive em hard,i get the impression that sabine is not easy on the cars,if you know what i mean.

the worn tyre could contribute to the fidgety feeling although not normally an issue with rear tyres.make sure you have identical tyres on each axle, and preferable identical sized tyres (or as specced)ohterwise you can get abs warnings(or tyre pressure)

yes I know Andy ,the diesel is about HALF the consumption of the 535!

4.5l 100k is very good....my round town average is 6.5 but that is a bit of stop start and a pretty steep hill every day...my typical open road average is 5.5,but again that always involves hills of some sort.My city running ussually sees me filling up at about 700k for about 40litres,open road its ussually about 900k

BMW use a particularly crappy plastic which can be recycled,i think its some euro regulation.Look the ssytem over carefully.Give it a complete flush if it looks old and keep the anti freeze(anti corrosive properties) at the correct ratio.
-
look at the condition of it,it tells the whole story. This car is nearly 20 years old you wont find one with many ks less. There is heaps and heaps of infor on the net re e 34s,here
