  1. I call bullshit. You can't tend to a patient properly crouched in the back of an SUV. They already have full-sized ambos with some off-road capability. Anywhere they can't go is too rough to transfer a patient anyway and they'll use a chopper.

    Idiots on the bridge

Meh, even though it was a piss around for us like DRTDVL said, it doesn't bother me. Even if you don't support their protest you have to support their right to protest. Even if you don't support some of the underhand tactics to garner support, you have to admire the craftiness of it. There haven't been any decent protests in nz for awhile - people are getting weak and PC. It's about time something like this happened to get the blood flowing and to get people fired up about something instead of sitting behind their computer screens whinging. Sure a minority disadvantaged a minority, and I'm waiting for the stories of people who's health suffered due to the traffic backups, but if you believe in something you should stand up and make a point.
  3. e30 speedos do generally tend to read fast not slow.
  4. f**k, sorry man. It was last minute decision to go. Want to hit the shore for beers to night vis-a-vis my earlier text? I can come get you, and I'm sure there'll be a couch at worst and bed at best.
  5. I voted for the merc, and would hit that all day long. But as far as parts goes, search on TM and see how many pages of e30 parts there are compared to 190e parts.
  6. Got an oil leak - lets rebuild!!!!!!!!!!! I like your thinking! I'm with the 2.7 build.
  7. Sweet as man, my sincere apologies. So, your friend owns this car, or you just know of it?
  8. Dude, stop talking smack. Plenty of cars on race tune dump fuel out the exhaust. That doesn't mean its a bad tune or faulty ecu, that means its running rich under certain conditions due to a safe (ie not too lean) tune. Especially running boost. You may know the guy/car, but your attitude is pushing all the wrong buttons dude.

    E30 Kidney Grill

Nah bro, you don't do that as the paint eventually chips and it looks like arse. You just remove them, wash in hot soapy water, then hit em with silicone spray.
  10. Loving the new rims man. She's quite the looker.
  11. Sweet. Although it may be fun to listen in on emergency services (I never have, but have radio geek friends who do), the benefit of not having criminals and the like using the information for nefarious purposes has to outweigh the inconvenience of radio hams losing some of their regular entertainment. I'd be interested if anyone has any legitimate reasons why they shouldn't do this.
  12. Welcome Sam, nice e39! Magic cars those.
  13. Vids - I have got almost enough footage now, including some dyno runs (man does it scream - need to have a decent home theatre on full bore to really appreciate it though). I'm still trying to get hold of some decent editing software as my attempts with Windows Movie Maker have been fraught with codec issues. Can't get it to open the avi's from the digicam.
  14. Every time I go to post up the numbers, I've left the sheet in the car which right now is parked a few minutes walk away on heaths front lawn. We didn't get any more power out of it (final run made same hp as initial run), but Gavin did sort the idle, and unknown to me it was detonating fairly badly = gay which is now fixed. It is so much easier to drive now. I'm probably going to pay for that possible detonation damage somewhere down the track, so already thinking about rebuilding my other m20b25 in anticipation. It goes really well. I've talked with Gavin and I've decided to try and rig up some sort of second tps hooked up to a voltage sensor and relay that also has an rpm input so we can switch off the SC at closed throttle, and cruise. Apparently they aren't designed to be on all the time as I have it and I'm losing boost when it gets hot. I also have some valvetrain noise and an oil leak to attend to. On the Waikato Uni dyno it was making 179rwhp. On Gavins it was more like 160rwhp at the top end. (so your e30 will pwn it Andrew). He tells me that a stock 325i makes around 90rwhp on his dyno so that's about 30% over stock which is exactly what I thought it was. Based on the torque and hp curve I'm maybe making up to 50% over stock in the low and midrange where it counts which is why it feels so quick without making stupendous numbers. Torque figures are very impressive and curve is very flat and smooth. Big ups to Gavin who gave me (IMO) a sharp price on what equated in the end to over 10hours on the dyno, 17-20 runs, and around 80km travelled on the dyno. A good result, not a great result in terms of final outcome as I had hoped to squeeze a bit more out of it, and didn't really want to find out it had been detonating, but it's good to have fixed it now before something broke, and it is now an absolute pleasure to drive when warm, and easily manageable when cold.
  15. You can pick up genuine ones on the private market for the $1200-1500 mark. And from wreckers, etc, yep you're definitely up to the $2k mark. They seem to be getting more expensive. Mine owes me $1k, but I bought a car, pulled it off, and on sold the car. could have done it cheaper (ie got more for the car), but car was sold to family.
  16. Hah - I don't even have to rewatch it to know what bit you'll be referring to....
  17. Not sure yet. Will PM/call ya.
  18. sh*t how old are you now? HB mate, having beers?
  19. Thanks for those Heath. Thank Ian for me when you next see him, although I'm going to try and logon to eurosport and thank him myself. I'm gonna make an effort to pop over tomorrow night if you have the rest yet??? Chris - there will be hi res laying around somewhere, the camera was some serious bit of kit. If it were mine I wouldn't be hanging half out the window of a moving vehicle at motorway speeds with it. Yes it was very dirty - had done 400kms since the last wash. See Heath, I told you people would notice!
  20. Hah - Was talking to another member about this very thing just the other day - were looking at that last pic of yours too P-Jay. I'd love to get a wof in one of those. VTNZ would sh*t a brick.

    E30S50

so now it's a 3-way race to see which s50 project is finished first! My money is on this fella right here to be honest.
  22. +1 I've done the same thing. H&R springs, custom valved Bilstiens, Powerflex urethane bushes all round. Should have got coil overs and uprated sway bars, but is fine with stock 325i power. Still fine with the extra go, but now on very bumpy roads its the suspension holding me back, not the power.
  23. Talk to Gavin about remapping your motronic Graham. My tune cost a fair bit more than $600, but that was for the sc setup. Gavin spent close to 8 hours on it. Finetuning for your headers etc should be much quicker.
  24. I wish spinners had been more popular. You never see them now. And I don't mean hubcap ones either. I mean the real deal. Also love those LED rims. I wouldn't put them on my ride, but they are cool. Phases are normal. My old e30 had blue under-car neons.
  25. I come down every 3-4 weeks. I'm in Auckland right now, so would be a few weeks before the next trip. Thinking of coming down for the Antiform gig in 4 weeks time.
