  1. had a meeting with phil reynolds earlier this year about up and coming stuff. Mobile was on that list. Stuff I can talk about is network is GSM however its going to be far more advanced than vodafones network. (newer gear) Phones expect the same / similar phones to vodafone except they wont be selling iphone. (doesnt mean you cant just buy one and hook it up) Phil made his first call on it 3 months ago. He said november then but the date may have moved to make sure they have ironed out all the bugs. All this info is a few months old so may have changed since then. edit: hehe well then .. doesnt what I put here contradict the above statements. this is what I've been told so we shall see I guess.
  2. as long as they continue developement of the s14 style of engine .. I'm happy with that. Its doesn't actually the six will be phased out itself .. just the munich plant wont be doing them. I dont think I would forgive BMW if it turned into VW or Fiat however!
  3. The part will be ex germany. Usually if you catch the BMWNZ bi monthly shipping order youll have it in no more than 2 weeks. Unless its catagorised as a dangerous good in which you can add another 2 weeks on top of that. I dont think a retrofit is going to be a dangerous good however If in NZ ring Keith at Jerry Claytons and tell him Josh sent you.
  4. Just a few tips about taking photos. Take them in as high qaulity as possible. Print standards dictate atleast 300dpi and between 8 - 6 mpx. Dont worry about mucking around with colours in photoshop, leave that to us as it going to require the correct balance for print. When you take / submit the photos make sure they are not under or over exposed. Think about framing the shot properly. look at the things in your shot and make sure you dont have too much of white or black (unless your going for that look) Taking photos on grass is quite tricky, the colour green doesnt go with much and just ends up reflecting onto paint and spoiling colour balance of the photo. Taking photos under trees with poor light also can be very hard to get right. Would be great if the cars are clean when you photo them Also thinking we might blank out number plates in the final print for obvious reasons.
  5. nice renders but everyone already knoiws what im going to say haha evolution .. not more of the same.
  6. awesome ! ... now for the raceday footage !
  7. what people commonly call 'your engine blew its load'
  8. admitted the 5 series in buck standard form is a bi tof a pigmole .. however with motorsport spec 2 guise its one of BMWs nicest looking vehicles around. Especailly sitting on the the right wheels / suspension setup.
  9. no .. Your stock cast intake will handle about 800odd bhp before it will inplode. This has been tested on other turbo s50b30. Turbo plenium design is quite different from the N/A versions. Pleniums are like exhaust systems, They can look good but infact cause HP loss when buying into cheaper look good options. The intakes runner length play a big part in torque and power levels. Turbo pleniums are usually a lot shorter to help with compressor spool up times and also made from materials such as steel/stainless. Check out some of the designs from the s54 version from Horse power freaks
  10. Look into underdrive pullies too. Check some of this out on http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/index.asp just be aware that some of this stuff is US model specific. eg s50b30US
  11. The second round has started ... its not as silly as last time ... you basically have 2 votes (one via text and one via registration) for the whole month .. So get voting here: http://www.vnzma.co.nz/index.php?option=co...0&task=list AND text: vote<SPACE>antiform to: 787 We have a bunch of interviews with c4 and ZM coming up so look out for those too! thanks so much guys .. really means heaps to us.
  12. blood nice car! Your dad and yourself should be (obviously are) very proud ... weldone! I really love the lines.
  13. probably ... they call themselves Image Wheels International email them [email protected]
  14. Here is the finished product on Image DM cast wheels
  15. http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/pages/wheels_billet.html Billet 85's
  16. Ok sure. Look into the mode that your CD is being burnt at. I know my e46 nav CD (different kettle of fish) didnt like mode 2 discs, Also try closing the disc or not loading the burning session as multi session. The burn at slow speed thing is more and audio CD thing. again try different types of CD media too.
  17. Problem is with most of BMW / tuner wheels is they only go half way for the look that most people are after. Too many times I see people wanting the euro maginzine look from 'standard' turner wheels. (accept maybe reverse dish 3peice BBS RS1's) I'm the first to agree when it comes to rubbish after market wheels as they can destroy the classic lines of the car it may be on. But I think this is the first wheel manufactuer i've seen that combines classic looks with 'nu skool' rim design / close-to-run offsets with a proper step lip. Those weave reps are billet and also are availible in 18inch (touring car sizes / offsets).
  18. or these!!! availible in upto 20 inch! hahah
  19. hmmmm however a set of 18's might be in order for the race car. these are hot and i've been looking for them for some time!
  20. I would of thought know what happened to richard hammond in this thing they would of taken that down off the website hahaha
  21. hahaha thanks again fellas ... for sure boys .. catch up with me on the night and ill shout some beers / whatever. Really hoping to hold #2 or at least top 5 ... the next phase is going to be just as important. I think the conformation email thing is a manual process after shouts and calls of rigging ..
  22. hey glenn, Define 'blown engine' please. example: busted rods, melted rings, thrown bearings ? Im sure they have tuned it with a good safety margin. The figure on the two graphs look pretty tight. close to full boost at 3000rpm is pretty dam good.
  23. Check to see if your MP3s are VBR (varible bitrate) mp3s, also check that you burnt the CD at 16x and not at 48x. Most CD media doesnt really burn well at this rate and a lot of CD/Data play back devices struggle with the errors generated from these hi burn speeds. Also make sure your using qaulity media like sony / verbatium / 3m etc etc. I take it your burning a data CD ? the rules are very similar for audio CDs Another thing could be is you burning a multi session CD. Select 'no multi session' or 'close CD after burn'. These are some basic reasons however it could be the mode type the CD is being burnt in may not be supported in your BMW.
