I don't mean to be a downer .. but the Windows OS is pretty much useless in New Zealand, bugger all of the local businesses support it in app development. That may change in the future.

On the m62 engines (and later models) Datamap thermostat standard operating temps are 80-110c. The car will run normally at 110c in which the DME will retard the timing and run hotter for efficiency. When you start getting more aggressive on the accelerator it will open the thermostat and drop to around 80c and advance the timing for more power but less fuel efficiency. There maybe other issues if the standard operating temperature is averaging 115c (EG radiator efficiency due to oxide build up inside the alloy radiator) .. The needle will start moving at 117 and hit red at 123c.

Jooles needs an e30. He just doesn't realise it yet. seriously, Have drive a couple of Quaife diffs in higher HP cars and its been pretty good. They really make the car handle so much better in the corners even compared to a standard LSD. Definitely worth the $$$. Think of it like a set of matched shocks and springs... gives the same sort of wow factor.

The only other member on here that I know who did it sold his car some years ago after working on building his car for a long time. He only had the thing running for a month. There are others however theyre running true BMW Motorsport ECUs and not the standard road ECU. John's kit is the best around as it covers all aspects of the conversion.

Dont let the electronics scare you off... I get tired of people taking the pussy way out and compromising on their builds because of the fear of EWS / wiring etc. Westy knew not too much about wiring and managed by himself to move everything across without many issues. If you do you get some of the more advance features such as DSC (assuming you have a DSC car)

haha awesome .. when I first got the e30 I managed to kill the altenator after a big drive out and around .. stuck in maramarua .. thanks to andy and gus who made the trip out at 11pm with a altenator to get me up and running again.

Recheck the torque on the plugs ? sometimes they wiggle loose especially if you've replaced them recently. Has happened to be twice now. Love hate relationship with torque settings

All I know is I prefer to lift a little on gear changes .. goes in way better on most SMG m3s ive driven. 6 is a bit to pointless and brutal for my tastes with no real gain in performance.
