  1. are you guys talking about the same person? id rather buy local, always have, so if hes going to have a gaurentee ill get those. I now have no bulbs working in the kitchen now. Im not sure i belive that 9 consecutive bulbs are busted tho
  2. 25, i did this a few weeks ago i remember being pissed off i didn't get 100% was the Vettel one for me too. I wouldnt have known Tata if i hadnt been to Thailand recently though
  3. you have to work pretty hard to get a 316i sideways! maybe its a.. wait for it.. 1.8L!? pretty sure everything south of the bombay hills is a stones throw from each other anyway
  4. E30s in this condition are getting very hard to find these days!
  5. my gearbox was an M40G240 gearbox, the 316i driveshaft i tried was too long. i guess the wierd thing in my setup is i wanted the gearbox to sit in the right orientation. i used 100% BMW partsbin bits for it but ended up using 316i/318i gearbox, 320i shifter and linkages, and 325i clutch pressure plate etc ha. interesting that most BMW to BMW engine conversions can be done using a LOT of BMW partsbin bits though isnt it! its just like lego edit: pretty sure the guibo flange end on the E36 is too big to mate to any E30 gearbox anyway. could be wrong though?
  6. subtle touch, i think i ike it. Bimmersport seal of approval is hard to find
  7. M20B20 G240 driveshalf, thats what i used in my twin cam conversion. no need to get custom made. same as shifter linkage if you havent got that sorted all ready
  8. recommended! a water pump from an early E30 318i (m10)will also work. and definatlely doable yourself if you know a ratchet from a screw driver
  9. do you mind linking me to the seller on ebay?
  10. put it on inside out like Jon (or Keren) said, and put a zip tie around it. in my experience the slip ring type things seem to have stretched some how. last two manual E30s i did this too and works well, obviously cut the "tail" off the zip tie before folding back over. dont forget to leave enough room for the gearknob too
  11. ive only ever purchased sony head units and they only activate the aerial when you go to the radio setting! will be a very easy thing to do though, you just need to put the switch somewhere along the trigger line. garage door remote would be fine too, just need to de solder the current switch off the board, solder on some wires and a witch to end of those, done.
  12. cool sounds like a plan. i guess im protected under consumer guarantees act? i dont really care than $16 of bulbs are gone, but $200 odd worth of bulbs is a different story. though they werent "installed professionally" or some other crap they will pull ha. ill have a think about it, thanks for your help team!
  13. well if i knew they would last it would be a no brainer = get the LEDs. but if the LEDs fizz out too.... i just measured the terminals im getting 242VAC on all the terminals on one rail, the other didn't check.
  14. 5pk was $16.90 i have a recipet right here. the LEDS were about $20 a piece if i remember rightly.
  15. are the LED bulbs worth the investment? im a bit anal about power bills here, and plan to stay here for at least the next 3 years before i sell etc
  16. okay ill pull the rest of these elite bulbs out and get the more expensive ones. i thought they would all be the same anyways all made in the same factory, maybe not!
  17. yes they are, have had about 6 or 7 bulbs blow out now, at first i thought maybe just a dodgy bulb i can get over that but seems something is wrong after all. They dont flicker before dying, all they do is one second they are working fine then all of a sudden they go just like a camera flash with the same speed, just go extremely bright and then dead, i actually thought my flatmate was taking a photo of me the first few times it happened haha edit this is what the bulbs say if it helps. the original ones were some ling chow chingy brand, but otherwise the same
  18. my kitchen dining and lounge in my house is all open plan. I have halogen lights in the kitchen and dining area three sets of three (pic of one set attached, all the same). One set which is on its own circuit is fine never had any issues with them. as for the other set, they were fine installed for about 6 months at least, however these last two months they have started popping bulbs so have replaced them with new ones and they are starting to pop now too. the house was built in the late 70s early 80s, and when i brought the place had the normal incandescent bulbs 100W in each hole. replaced them with the CFLs and then eventually these halogens. they are 150W each set. im good with electronics and have certificates etc, but not for house supply, have common sense and AC 240V multimeter etc, is there anything i can check? i installed them too all the other ones are fine, just this curcuit is naff or something. either that or if anyone can point me in the direction of a family member or friend in the lower hutt area that would like some "evening work" let me know. getting sick of using the light on the range hood as my kitchen lighting source
  19. definatley not diamond black, this is my old E30 in similar lighting conditions and shitty camera too
  20. theres a Mazda (i think 121, its a little bubble car) around the corner from my work with those rims and the number plate MIBEAR, ill take a snapshot if i remember tomorrow
  21. not my cup of tea, but id rock a set of these over vaults or annihilators etc if i had to choose something like this.
  22. trouble is that you need to look at that as two dents, because the door and the quarter pabel are different body parts
