i wouldnt take the stickers off as it leaves adhesive behind which may be hard to remove. I know this because in the past some of the plates have peeled in transit to NZ in the past so ive had to pull the sticker off and reapply before sending out. I have spares here if you want to try and mess it up you can reapply the ferns if you want, seeing as you are local you can collect?

Hutt City European on Wakefeild Street? crap service for me when i used to get my first E30 done there before i knew anything about BMWs or cars. Also the Mercedes i just brought and sold came with a file of reciepts of things that had been replaced by that outfit which certainly weren't a year or so old nor 5000kms. So they obviously havent changed, and makes me wonder if i got ripped back in the day too. They have a lot of cars going through there though, i pass them most days

okay well in that case it wont be faulty. i looked up the code and it said right occupancy sensor, so prehaps the same code whether left or right, and the website is made for LHD markets. Thanks for your help Glenn!

yep thought so, doesnt make sence there would be one. your scanners say Left do they? We dont really have any specialist BMW workshops in Wellington except Jons or Jeff Gray, the latter wants $1200, and my mate wont have contacted Jon. but the cheapest indy he found was $900 apparently.

Mates airbag light goes on and off intermittently. Has got to the stage its always on and doesn't want to pay the $1k or so it costs to fix, so i thought if possible, i might be able to tackle it. Carsoft scanner says its the Right hand seat occupancy sensor which is all well and good, untill we realised why would there be a sensor on the right hand side? if the car is driving, someone will be in the drivers seat right???? maybe its really the left hand side, but there is only one input into the module as most BMWs worldwide are LHD? any ideas thoughts etc welcome.

yep I agree. Welcome

beachvolleyball, real edge of the seat stuff. nip or no nip, who will know. in all honesty, no sporting insterests, no TV, no care.

bear in mind a large proportion of our members here possibly canot see the point of spending the $600+ per corner that continentals and perellis are for road tyres, you certainly don't get 2,3,4x the tyre for it. RE002s were $270odd from memory
-
i did last years track day on RE002s and i was throwing the 5 at corners trying to keep the momentum up and always turned fine etc. the kingstars on the back different story though lol got tailhappy in a 520i Auto

right time for an update, not sure why it took longer to get to NZ this time than previous, but in any case, the FedEx site says they are out for deliery to me today so hopefully it turns up before 4pm or they will miss me. if i get them today, they will be sent tomorrow and you will get them thursday unless you are one of the wellington addresses, in which case it will be tomorrow, or you could pickup tonight. If i dont get them till tomorrow they will be shipped on thursday arrive friday etc. Andy

if its an E30 like your alias thing says then quickest thing would be to call your local locksmith and get him to make you a key. if its a '93 or so onwards car its pretty much dealer only
-
there is now bud. doesn't look overly factory, but maybe its a Jerry Clayton fitted special, similar to the SABMW cars???? would be best to talk to an ex employee of that era?
-
I should have rephrased that, i should have said i rarely seen one, not that they dont have them. i know the place you are talking about, the little side emergency area about 800m past where the Porirua traffic merges right? that exact spot is the only place ive seen them used down here, true story.
-
it says 3181 Turbo for a start, so i dont believe it
-
..or they are parking sensors. in fact some of them even have this capability for that reason. Pretty pointless in wellington, the cops down here dont use laser guns, in fact i dont think ive seen a laser gun pointed anywhere in NZ for well over a year and at a guess i would be doing around 30,000kms a year if you added all the cars up, though 95% of that is upperhutt and south and no porirua.
-
is it still there? i cant see it. was it a 316i coupe as well?
-
nope wouldn't have been this one
