you will after a year though, ask how i know. im never buying fake ones again
  2. just needs a 2.5L and a cert for the bucket seats and you'll be away! i dont mean to stir, but you paid a lot for it though? i could have found you a better deal given you are obviously not too bothered about bodywork and overall condition, seems to me you really only paid $2k for an inferior M20B20, a manual conversion and some honda wheels? of course, if it has an LSD too which is unlikely being a 320i, then you got a good deal!
  3. walk in rate is 30c/kg for clean steel, drops to 18c/kg when it isnt Ive got more good work stories if you want to hear them.
  4. really brings together the back end on the E30s dont they, i think they look the best on them, but then im a bit biased to E30s

Just had a look, shipping discounts by £2 per unit, which is lost when having to redirect in NZ so negligable. Even if you could get the price down by the same amount, thats a 33% discount on the product, i dont think its even worth trying on something that only costs £8 is start with, to your door for £12 which is about $40nz That said, if anyone in wellington is keen.... Long story short, not worth the bother unless someones planning to fly back from the UK in the next few weeks lol. Sorry to derail your thread Malcolm, seems this new is probably your best option anyway
  6. Your supposed to wait for the oil to heat up before doing skids.
  7. dont all e36 iS have Mtech kits?
  8. Mr lotus said HP makes you fast in a straight line, light weight makes you fast everywhere. something like that.
  9. yep 100% right. on later versions i believe it could advance vanos timing to suit the driver etc too but that stuff is irrelevant for this discussion. regarding the M40 engine, i thought the same as you but i wiped the codes and adaptions on my M40 and all of a sudden the engine ran a lot better which is strange. the car is currently on empty now after a full tank so im looking forward to seeing what difference it made. the M20 should be the same, as its a very similar ECU system if not the same. injector cleaner is a waste of time. get them ultrasonically cleaned, buy new, or dont bother. you shouldnt see any difference between 91 and 95, the only improvement will be due to your wallet being lighter. the M20 isnt technically advanced enough to make use of the higher octane. you'd need to get a buddy/BMW mech/dealership to scan it.

one group buy is enough on my plate, but if someone wanted to set up a group buy on these, im sure there would be interest, id be up for two, which is already a start at 4.
  11. sounds about right for an ocassional spirited drive and city driving. my 316i does 7 or so when i dont fang it, rises to around 11-2 when i do over the whole tank. the 320i/5 (first car i had) got about the same as what you are saying. but to improve, start with what brett says. clearing historic error codes and/or adaptions may help in its own right.
  12. all i can say is you arent the only person that has found that after a starter swap. I dont know the fix though :S
  13. anyone got one? a workmate is moving to Indonesia and needs one to get a WOF on his car before he sells it. In other news, if anyones is after an N14 Pulsar M1 let me know 0273079322
  14. Yup your right. and nope, i did not notice this, but i am colourblind. Shoot me a PM if you want and ill sort it out if your worried about it.
  15. i do if you are in wellington. otherwise youll find one local to wherever you are
  16. yes if you have a manual, it is either Inspection 1 or 2 depending on what the last one you did was. of course, with an E30 the service interval indicator means next to nothing these days as in most cases they havent been dealer serviced for at least 5 years now. To reset the light either use a tool to do it, or you can jump pin 7 and 15 (RESEARCH PINS FIRST) for 3 seconds for oil and 10-12 seconds for the inspection light
  17. good looks runs in my family, a distant cousin on the far right as it turns out
  18. did you reset the oil AND service lights or just the oil light? two seperate things.
  19. your right. has to be same type on each axle e.g. both directional, brand doesn't matter. can be different front to back though eg directional front asymmetric back.
  20. One for Sam parked behind a bloodbus too, ironic?
  21. been down that road. I let MSPEC1 go way too cheap.
  22. Ha, thats a pretty well known car in wellington if you know the right people, thats all I will say on the topic.
