  1. Mike if you need a VHS player let me know, i get a dozen or so in weekly. one in storage probably no good, they are partictulary sensitive to moisture
  2. im missing something here, why arent you building up the compact??
  3. I want to know too! Main reason i have health insurance.... haha
  4. My V12 swapped E34 Touring is slightly nose heavy. Touring are ass heavy from new, so gives a good balance, though V12 sedans are nose heavy. take more weight "out" by being an E36 instead of an E34, will be quick in a straight line, but not anywhere else. Just buy my Touring, its on at $8500 now. Over 1000 watchers now. at a loss why it is still in my driveway. assume its because the WOF has expired and rego is on hold, must get it back to legal at some stage. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=884025340
  5. does seem silly i agree, and yet i find an assymetric gives a better drive than the equivelent priced directional
  6. depends if you want to proceed knowing you have taken advantage of the guy or not. law is law, but there is always a provision for ethics first in peoples own minds
  7. yeah difference between flow and pressure. much like a battery, can look good all day long, but all turn to custard once there is a load on it.
  8. I will admit i did think about it lol
  9. Listing on behalf of a mate, ex forum member Located in Hastings - M60B30 - good condition runs well, 180,000kms - $1000 - Matching Transmission - $800 - Genuine BMW clear light kit, taillights (NOT Depo!!), side indicators and headlights - $300
  10. did you buy that compact in the end??
  11. Come off the forum for a couple of days, mention the forum has turned a new leaf while staying with and seeing some ex-members, and this garbage to back it up.
  12. you havent driven a well sorted E34 then!!!
  13. they come loose and fall off while driving etc. i can bring them back if you want, but have to wait a while. no 14" and 15" are not the same, similarly you cannot use E34/E32 15" caps on E30 wheels. 500 is pretty reasonable, getting a bit hard to find now
  14. I switched to Penrite from Castrol about 3 or 4 years ago when Castrol didnt have a suitable oil for my V12 (E32/E34 use all sorts of specific oils for the hydraulic brakes etc) Ended up swapping engine oils too, and now use only Penrite for my own cars and the fleet at work I am responsible for. Im no scientist or particularly clued up on oil, and I'll use the Hiace as an example only because i do 40,000km a year, but i do know I used to burn up Castrol in the Hiace, low level light always came on about 8-9000km after oil change so needed another litre to get it across the line. Since switching to Penrite (same weight) i usually down to about half by the time 10,000km comes round. Take from that what you will, but i think thats pretty good, for an engine that has done 450,000km now, its always going to burn some!!
  15. Can i have a picture Nikita (yes tyre kicking, no intention to buy, but i want to see it on throwing stars!!
  16. grommets are still available from BMW frame surround PM Geoff on here 'FIAT 131R'
  17. you have brought a premium vehicle, you will need to get used to service bills accordingly. wjhat is your $3k buying you? Who diagnosed the faults as the sensors themselves? possibly just something out of range tripped a sensor and stored a code etc. 101 of using a scan tool (i will admit i took a few years to learn), they are just a tool to point you in the right direction, they are not a bible. all of those are oil related, seems like too much of a coincidence to me, could be something as simple as old/dirty oil, or the oil in there of the wrong type etc.
  18. especially if you are realistically able to wear the potential outcome. tempting to do think with my E34 at the end of the year, we will see.
  19. for example, this video is the later model hiace (my one is earlier) and i am sure it will be totally unladen in this video. bye bye legs i once wrote off an L300 setting up the Wairarapa rally several years back. road was closed so we were going a bit quicker than usually would be, some farmer decided to cut the tape and went out on the course the wrong way, and crashed into us. i tried braking, but being gravel nothing happened, so i abandoned braking and swung my legs over to the passenger side. if i didnt i would have lost them, the drivers foot well totally disappeared and i could see the ground in front of me.
  20. My Hiace and my E38 are both the same i know which one i would rather be in in a crash!!!!!!
