  1. The NZ Health system does not have a funding problem, it has a spending problem. There is no need for 22 different DHBs each with thier own entirely seperate systems such as procurement, asset management, management structures, etc. There are also far to many funded NGOs that have no accountability of returns back into the community that pays for them. The funding, which has increased every year for decades under both National and Labour, never gets to the front line where it is needed, and thats what causes the illusion people have that it is underfunded. another example is your local private practice is paid something like $80 every year for every single one of thier patients registered with them. This is not to subsidise services that patients recieve (such as gp fees), that is funded seperately and on top. There is no point throwing good money after bad in a broken system.
  2. Yep, i brought it a year or so ago, and reshelled it into a 328i convertible body with a friend of mine, because why not. It is all stock except for a singl piece flywheel (still dual mass weight, but in one piece. you need the weight for the deisel), and wound the boost up 2psi using the boost tap Lance had on it. it walks away from a standard 328i, and thats including the extra 200kg or so for being in a cabby body. Having said that..... The M51 is not a common engine in New Zealand at all, Graham i think you are thinking they are as common as they are in the UK, that is not the case. FInding consumables for it was a whole lot of misses until we ended up importing everything except for the Land Rover water pump which is the only cross compatible consumable, we picked up for $10 in the clearance bin, had aparently been put there over two years earlier. Even the early M57 is uncommon, except in the X5, which wouldnt work for your application. actually..... just get an X5 and be done ha. Edit, we are also metric here, so lets use kW and Nm
  3. expencive trip, i hope you could invoice someone for it!
  4. 93%, the 2002 and 1600 look very similar and i didnt know the 3.0. a bit before my time. All of which are Neue Klass anyway, and have had E numbers retrospectively assigned.
  5. sorry for assuming that since you are an IT guy you wouldnt be browsing with a local IP.
  6. literally the first second and third links that come up if you google it. would you like me to help you put your bib on as well ?
  7. i see you are in Tauranga, but i think i saw this on the Kapiti expressway a few weeks back ? heaps of gps radar dash cam etc on the windscreen ? otherwise you have a twin about ha.
  8. They do, and have done for ages, its called BMW Classic.
  9. yeap cheap as. as are the E30 iS lips. shipping is the killer, on bulk parts BMW will always end up cheaper because they dont charge freight into NZ, only within it (if any) for some reason people are too scared to ask. you can tell them you dont want it if its too much! the bmw classic website is good for giving you a ball park of what stuff is worth before you call your local dealer for acurate pricing. remember to factor in currency difference.

    M TOY M3

Although i trusted the person that put my half cage in, i removed all the windows so it was easier for him to get in there, and for this reason. make sure you get the cage homologated before you paint it, they will need to inspect photos of it and often come back asking for more photos. you cant provide them these after it has been painted.
  11. might be a bit early for someone to have had a prang in one bad enough for it to get wrecked. Have you priced the parts at BMW ?
  12. ah quite right, yes the Bosch stuff is a bit of a pain. i have a stack of Bosch DMEs here that are basically useless untill someone comes up with a solution, id say the time is passed and noone will now tho.
  13. not on the V8, but you are correct for the I4 engines. BMW pull the engine on V8 E60s and X5s
  14. get in my dm's bear in mind all style 66 are E39 fitment and require spacer rings so they are hubcentric when fitting to E34. E34 are finniky about this at the best of times. my price is $80, you will probably pay more for them. remember to budget that in.
  15. just delete the EWS all together. flash it out from the DME etc.
  16. yep im interested. yep have a few here, garage type cant tow with them or anything.
  17. genuine about $90 at BMW and will last another 20 years. dont bother being tempted into the ebay knockoffs, youl get a year or two max out of them
  18. wouldnt be too upset about that price. though would talk to a BMW specialist and/or main dealer as well who have the correct tools for the job. bear in mind it is a fools game going to the place with a $20 an hour less labour rate when they spend twice as long to fix the problem. All the V8s need to come out through the bottom of the car so they can be worked on, there is no room in the engine bay to complete this task. bear in mind you are also paying for the fact the car hoist is tied up with your engineless car on it for a period of time that the bay could otherwise be generating revenue.

    WHO COOKS

its not that i cant do it. i could, and used to frequently when i didnt have to worry about just myself, more than just one person is viable both in time and economic sence to cook at home. these days i'd just end up with a pantry with two dozen expired packets of sprices, and a fridge full of shrivelled brocolli, capsicums and funky looking meat. if i wanted to live amoungst nature projects i would have become a biologist. as i said above, spoilt for choice around where i live.
  20. just worth buying and replacing regardless of if its your fault.. they are common to fail. when the radio does its quirk, press the horn and see if that goes.

    WHO COOKS

i have owned this house for 4.5 years, have just spent $35k here including a new kitchen, in total i have cooked maybe a half dozen times, even bbqs i provide the BMBBQ Trailer and the gas and delegate the cooking. spoilt for choice with places out around here, many places are very cheap during the week to get you in the door. Would be different if i had a partner of course. Its just not economical to cook for one, without having to have the same thing for dinner 4 nights in the row.
  22. yep i have that. $1 to rent a movie. People feel odd doing that and say thats expencive, but quite happy to pay $15 or whatever it is for netflix.... if you are watching more than 15 movies in a month, you really need to evaluate your life decisions.
  23. id dollar reserve my cabby if they actually sold for that price though.

    Gissa job!

i disagree with your first sentence. i know for fact your second sentence is not true. More and more of my job is visiting the same data centre sites on a weekly if not monthly basis, so much so its easier that i have my own access card to most of them now, and I'm sure you know the performance it takes to get those.
