yip i use 10/10ths in my M52 race car too.

i was very happy with my compact race car, but ultimately, would rather have it all in an E30 so reshelled it into my E30 coupe.

how much did that set you back ? was about $300 last time i looked into them

usb sucks. acquire an old win xp laptop with a serial port, if only you knew someone with an abundance of them and connect using that. alternatively, icom's are a possibility, though i do not have one.

late to the party sorry, usually just drop the rear exhaust hangers and the transmission subframe so the whole assembly tilts down when i do anything related to the trans/gearbox. Also as above on the control arms, plenty of room for a small club hammer on the exhaust side, you need to be a bit more creative using whats available to you on the intake side. don't use a pry bar between the arm and the subframe, you can damage the ball joint and/or the arm.

you are welcome to the ones on my E46 if you like. you'll have to come over before Wednesday as its already on the trailer ready for its final journey to the crusher.

i had a a slave do the same thing a few weeks ago, i think there might be a bad batch of them being sold at the moment. replacement bolted in and sweet as good to go.

can confirm that an E36 boot fits inside an E28 boot, in case anyone was wondering ha.

i have plenty of spare bodies here if you want to practice on some cars that don't matter if you stuff it up before you start on your own car. i also have an arc welder you are welcome to use any time, probably not useful for what you want to do, but i used it to build the frame and drawbar for the E30 BBQ trailer and it did just fine, need to strengthen up my car trailer too at some stage... getting a bit cold now tho ha.

another consideration, i saw on a US forum that a guy had a sump guard, was attached to the chassis rails, nice and solid right, yep saved his sump, at the expense of the body which bent. I have never run a sump guard in any of my E30s, (3 of them M52 swapped), and never busted a pan. you don't need one if you know how to drive properly and your cars suspension is road legal.

both of you overpaid. they are available either on the shelf or overnight at you local Mag and Turbo store, $50 for four.

Awesome work mate! I used his hoops in my conversion, they required different bolts and spring washers as the ones provided weren't up to standard, also remember to leave the carpet out before presenting the car.

something like 450Nm from memory. My fully charged DeWalt didn't have a chance on the last M52 I tried. you need a breaker bar to get the first crack, rattle gun or similar willl be fine after that.

sorry, late to the party, but if it helps a subsequent member, I can do brand new Yellowspeed coilovers for $1400 4 corners. I run them in my E36 compact and now my E30 coupe. couldn't be happier. Edit: strut pickup of the sway bar on both, but can do control arm pickup if needed (default option)

correct. Sounds like ill give season 25 of top gear a whirl then.

as I said above, not worth the diesel to collect it. Edit: though that doesn't mean they get away with saying they are coming to get it and then no show.
