No break in period, as pistons etc were left untouched. Water pump was not too old anyway(I had it replaced a while back when it was starting to make the telltale 'jingle bells' noise, so it stayed. No change of oil pump, it is working fine (it was checked). Cheers Grant

Oh yeah, my invoice was two pages long...a record for me. Cheers Grant

Hi I finally got my car back after I had my engine meltdown about 4 weeks ago. The meltdown was a knackered big end bearing at the no. 6 cylinder, which in turn damaged and bent the crank. Basically I limped my car to the BM Workshop and they pulled the engine out and sent it away to have the bottom end sorted out. It seems that for some reason or another I was not getting enough oil to that bearing (may have been blocked channels or somesuch thing). However I now have the car back and here is the list of work that was done: 1) Rebuilt bottom end 2) Shaved flywheel and balanced crack 3) New gaskets all round (there are a lot of gaskets in and around an M20 engine) 4) New radiator(my one was on its last legs - they actually installed a M50 E36 radiator in instead) 5) New hoses throughout 6) New exhaust bolts (as a matter of course) 7) New uprated clutch kit (my old one was nearly stuffed, so I got them to change it while the old one was out) 8) New cambelt and tensioner (also as a matter of course) 9) new spigot bearing As I was never involved in the 2.7 build that is in my car (I bought it that way), that was looked at as well as it was in bits, and it is confirmed that it is a good one, and was done well. I have not had a chance to really drive it yet (apart from the BM Workshop to home...all 5 minutes of it), but have to do a fair bit of driving in the next few days, so hopefully it will be sweet. Also I should not need to see Guido and his team at the BM Workshop in a very long time. I was going to put a different cam in at the same time, but it will have to wait for another day due to the cost of the above. The downside of this is that I have now lost the awesome sound my engine was making when under load. Cheers Grant

Hi Timo Welcome aboard. You are Jens' son right? Cheers

BM Workshop fitted mine, but still needed to get a wheel alignment after that.

Thats what I mean, buy the part from the dealer and then install it yourself. How hard can it be its only a sensor.Cheers

dealer - you might as well put a new one in. Cheers

If you are looking at ride height, them this photo shows a line up of E30's First 3 in orderorder (L - R) it is Andrews, Mine, and Gus's (all of which have modified suspension). Cheers Grant

I have Bilstein Sports shocks and H&R Sport Springs. I have new(ish) standard rubber bushes as well, and a RD Front Strut Brace. I don't think I have any decent photos since I put the suspension in (September last year). However it lowered the car around 35mm all round (over standard height) Cheers

Hi Ewald Have a great day, and make sure you stay out of trouble. Cheers Grant

I'm still waiting for the photo's. I'm still a bit slower than the times you say you are getting. Cheers Grant

Having an accident is the most extreme way I have ever heard of to get out of having to buy new motor mounts. If only you had been a bit more patient and waited at your favourite petrol station until the queue had died down..... Very stink to hear, good luck big fella Cheers Grant

I can lock this one, so it is done.

Yup, that is exactly right, the strut size is the same for standard and m tech suspension in the E30 325i.Cheers
-
You will have it...but There are different versions of the M-tech springs, I think (from memory) that the way to tell is that they have a coloured stripe on them. I'm sure you can find the spring rates of the different versions on the net somewhere (sorry I don't know off the top of my head). Cheers

Good idea...take a photo as proof, although I know that I will be far from the top of the board.Cheers Grant

I have yet to cheat, and still just finish the race when I am losing. Also remember that I have never played anything like this before (and was pretty much a video game virgin before buying this). For a long while my winning percentage was sitting at around 40%. Cheers Grant

Happy Birthday Old Bean. Hope you have a great day, and you got some nice CRX goodies,, and some good quality lovin' from the missus. Have a good one. Cheers Grant

I am at about 36% (from memory). All in A-Spec (don't even know where to start in B Spec - haven't even looked at it though). I have about a 73% win percentage, and have around 80 or so cars. I have been just doing all of the manufacturer races. I am having trouble winning what should be easy races. This is the Peugeot 205 cup. I mainly just drive the tracks in the different cars, and haven't been doing too many of the races so far. Some of the old cars are the best fun. Cheers Grant
