I am not sure how the new 1 would be but the current 118d and 120d whilst have the same engine, but all the bits around it are different (mainly fuel system and tuning), it's not just a boost level change. Hence, even if you chip both cars, 120d will still have an upper hand.

What's your budget? How many people? How many rooms and garage do you want/need? I live in Pakuranga for the past 7 years. Commute is not that flash to be honest but you can get to Mt Wellington within 30min. Have some decent schools depends on where exactly you want to be (St Kent, Pakuranga College, McCleans, etc...). Most decent 3 bedrooms are 500k+

Probably try check some of the more obvious things first, interior, park lights, etc... Charge and check battery condition. then check battery drain, bridge a suitable multimeter and check by removing fuses one by one try to narrow down to which circuit is causing trouble. Go from there.

I was going to but something pop up at work. If the last 3-series launch (E90 launch @ Eden Park) is anything to go by, it should be a pretty good event.

14/14 on the first go. Just drive carefully during that first week of rule change. Little bit of patience and respect goes a long way. Sadly, lots of drivers lacks one or the other and often both.

Continental said they need the car for half a day for programming when I do get new keys, but I didn't ask them for price. It's Ari Gold that said needing 4 figure price.
-
Pretty sure the limit is 10 for a EWS unit, which 3 is used when the car is manufactured (2 main key + 1 valet/wallet key). So you can get 7 more before needing to replace it.
-
^ Price is for key plus dealer computer coding. I've been told by a dealer that they need the car for half a day at least. That's RIDICULOUS!
-
Pretty sure we get more toys standard compare to UK. Plus UK is a huge market with lots of competition helps keep the price down.

You can get a replacement mirror glass (which you just clips off the old one and the new one clicks on) from dealership. They have all sorts of versions (flat, curved tail, heated, auto-dimmed, etc..), it pays to have a friendly chat to them get get one that matches your other side.

They have video out back then already, on a desktop! Even today, very few desktop have them from factory (unless you count DVI -> HDMI as video out)

Actually quite like that silver classic Lambo. What is it called?

Brasso works well on plastics, although takes longer. But as Neal said, it's worth it. Get a power-drill attachment and a foam pad then polish away. (Use a cordless drill though, mains power drill spins WAY too fast).

As I had good experience with my other car using Nolathane bushes to replace the worn factory ones, I made some enquiry about using Nolathane in my 330Ci as well. I was quoted $440 + GST for supply, fit and wheel alignment. Autolign/Racelign guys said there are 2 sizes for E46 depends on model, so they quoted me for the more expensive one just in case. Hope this can give you a reference on how much you will be spending...

Hope they are a lot more reliable now as the new BMWs don't have dipsticks. All electronic display through the OBC.
-
+1 my dealings with BMW dealerships has been pleasant and trouble-free.

I use those as well, they last ok if you wash your own car with decent car shampoo, but if you go to service station car wash, it won't last 2 washes.

From what I read, glaze is used after polish and before wax. Essentially is a micro-filler that top up the minor scratches that you don't/can't/won't polish away before a wax covers and protects the whole thing.

Yes, and some toys like the visual reverse sensors, reverse camera and TV need you to spec Nav in the first place. Why can't they put TV there without the GPS bits for a change?
-
The format to use is the most basic one, none of those 2x/4x capacity from the later generation MDs. If your's a Sony MD recorder, you should be able to set which format to use when transfer as NetMD. (NetMD just means able to connect to computer, you can still choose what format to write to the disc with supplied software.)

Doesn't need a jack to use the tyre gum sealant does it? This run-flat business, we all heard more bad things than good. I reckon it's a penny pinching scheme on a global scale, just imagine saving a jack, a tyre and a rim for every car made. Car manufacturers are saving tens of millions per year for omitting these! Then trying to justify to us consumers with marketing BS like safety, fuel economy, etc... then "conveniently" forgot to mention about their noise, ride quality and replacement cost.

Heck, cold start almost any M-engine they all sound like a diesel. Until it's warmed up and revving of course.... Modern diesel are actually pretty quiet compare to say 10-years ago.

What do you mean by "not support Jap imports"? Do Honda NZ not service them or won't get parts for them?

Maybe "Design in Germany (or wherever), Made in China" Like (almost) all Apple products.
