How do I force my BMW E39 GPS to acquire satellites
my_e36 replied to GerryAttrick's topic in Electrical system
Did you managed to get the problem sorted? I realise yours a in-built unit but TomTom has issued a mandatory update to solve unable to get GPS fix problem for a bunch of their satnav units due to leap year. Instead of getting to the battery? Why not try get at the fuse? -
+1 Little detail that can go unnoticed until it clicks then we go like "eh!'

Another legend bite the dust. RIP

No DSC? I would have thought completely opposite where there will be DSC-ed to the max with throttle restricted to about half or something like that?

Stanley Bay and North Head are good Northcote Point, Little Shoal Bay sees the bridge parts of Wynyard Quarters will see downtown Good luck. Edit: illegal but good view, just pull over on the side of motorway. NOT recommended.

When you have wheels that worth as much as the car itself, that's where you get into problem with mainstream insurers. Try a broker or specialist insurers like NAC or Swann

My petrol cars warm up super fast, but the diesel takes longer though. My e46's needle leave the blue zone as I reverse out of the driveway and will reach the middle in two blocks (~500m). I can get warm-air from the vents as soon as I drive off. Gotta love instant heat in winter. My other previous Bimmers (e46 compact and e36) are slightly slower but not far off.

Good deals for e36 OEM Brake Replace
my_e36 replied to Andre3000's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
racebrakes.co.nz Friendly bunch and definitely know their brakes. Had great service (and price) from them. Fail that... http://www.schmiedmann.com/3_series/E36/Sp...Brake_parts.htm Shipping from Europe is a bit cheaper than from US. -
I had a local locksmith done mine a while ago and works fine first go. I guess you could drive your car there, have the keys cut then make sure it works before you leave.

That's a good outcome. Hopefully they get it right this time.

325 being 6 cyclinder takes more oil (6-7 litre depending) than its 4-cyclinder siblings. Their "normal" mechanics doing "budget" servicing only put 4-5 litre of oil in it is what I am guessing.

I hate how media play with words to make something sounded really bad. A $100mil recall, wtf? With thousands of parts going into a car these day, a couple bound to go wrong. Just a fact of life in modern car ownership.

You mentioned borrowing some tools, are they special tools? Did you change the valve cover gaskets and spark plugs while you are at it? Mine's leaking slightly, so I might as well change everything.

If dot.com wins, can he claim compensation? Like, wrongful arrest or some other things along the line...
