  3. Thanks for that. That gives me something to compare to. Here's my drive shaft (top one is auto 525e) from an m30 e28. End to end. Measurement might be slightly off. Gearbox side only. From edge of CSB. Bolt distance. (Found a use for my sister ) How does that compare to yours M M?

  5. Realized I haven't posted any pictures of the car outside... Also tried on one of my style 4 wheels. With or without center caps? It's a tight fit.

  10. Oh, I've asked Jon if it has them (I can dream can't i?). You don't happen to have a e28 m20 g260 manual driveshaft do you? The guy who has the zf driveshaft says that the zf box is the same size as the 260, but I haven't looked into this yet.
  11. Have found an e28 520i manual driveshaft (from a ZF s5-16), so that plus the zf box might solve my problem.

  13. I didn't know that. That might be why it doesn't start with the key even though it is bridged. That's good advice, which I haven't seen in a manual swap guide before. Anyone want to buy an e28 auto loom? Thanks! There's no real rush, just whenever suits you. Thanks for all of the help everyone.
  14. Yeah, that's the guide i'm following and I have done that, so i'm not sure. Could you do me a favor and measure your driveshaft? I have a feeling i'm going to need to get one made if I got the m20 route

I know that the crank in the eta engine is worth $500 by itself.
  17. I have bridged the pins on auto plug, but I have a feeling it might be something to do with that.Good to know. Now I just need to decided if I can find the right drive shaft (already found gearboxes) or to just do an m30 swap, which makes sense as I can get an m30 foe less than a getrag 260
  18. I'm interested in your lip kws. I've got a mate with an e36 who's looking for one. I can pick up this weekend if you want. I assume I would be at least second in line though (not trying to make people who posted before miss out)
  19. Got it started. But it dies if you give it any throttle from idle. I attached the auto bellhousing so I could plug the sensors in. Does it sound normal for having only the manifolds on? Also I can only get it started by bridging pins 11 and 14 on the diagnostics plug, turning the key does nothing.
  20. Got it started... Just, can only be started by bridging 2 pins on the diagnostics plug.
  21. What gearbox and driveshaft did you use? I'm in the middle of doing a manual conversion to mine, but have a getrag 260 from an m30 engine.
  22. I was wondering when someone was going to bring this up. Looks like a bargain compared to e30s, especially since this is an actual classic.
