BMW Indonesia releases new lightweight 3 series racer!
Rubix replied to zero's topic in General Discussion
I like what seems to be a missing lug nut on the front left wheel - really paying attention to detail with the weight saving. -
Inspect and replace anything plastic in the cooling system (Water pump, thermostat housing, any pipes/fittings etc) as unless you have proof that this has been done then you need to treat it like it hasn't been. Cooling systems on e36's are terrible, bmw used a lot of cheap plastic parts that fail, however they later revised the parts with metal/alloy (such as thermostat housing and water pump impeller). I'd not take it on a road trip until you confirm that you won't have any trouble with the cooling system.

Unfortunately I'd say even with the decent tyres, you're asking quite a bit over what anyone would be willing to pay- They're not very desirable BBS wheels. Realistically you'd be lucky to get 600-700 for them.

Not really interested in waiting too long tbh, If no-one answers by the end of the weekend I'll just grab one from Ebay and shell out the cash.
-
Doesn't have to be brand new - Let me know what you have and prices (Looking at you Ray and Brent ) Preferably 5 speed, Happy to settle for a 6sp one as I just want the lower height, heavier weight and nicer aesthetic appeal. Cheers

Yes, Illegal without cert. Only some types are certifiable (Generally ones that bolt to hub and then wheels bolt to spacer are legal, simple discs are not)

I'll accept coinbox donations?

Only one way to find out really, Test drive and PPI at a proper BMW dealer. BTW that's an e91, not e92.

I'd stay aw Yeah I'd stay away... He has another listing for a 318i e46 touring.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-985197193.htm Exactly the same description, copied/pasted. And exactly same description on a passat: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/volkswagen/auction-985703801.htm -

Z4's are gorgeous. Especially the coupes. E46 verts look decent too, but IMO the e36 does not suit being a cabriolet. -

Yeah, Daytona violet. Nice car but e36 convertibles just look..terrible. -
That is ridiculously cheap. GLWS.

Awesome little cars, but don't forget to sell it before it blows up at 200,000km.

Hey I'm just trying to give you options

How about Nogaro silver centres? Shown here on LM:

ZF 5sp full conversions minus clutch usually run about 1400-1500ish, I'd say 1750 for the 6sp gearbox is well priced, especially when compared with Ray's at 2k (f it was just gearbox).
-
I hate to say it but I'm liking the black. Blue hardware would look good too.
-
Hate these, love the X6 ///M50d though
-
3.46 was brilliant in my 5sp converted (Albeit ZF) 328 - first gear quite usable and 3k rpm at 100kph. Got better fuel economy than the jatco auto in it prior. Nice and quick too with the short ratio.

My Fenix is good, no issues
