    Not my Supra

It's a great car, but it doesn't have the X factor. It would have cost too much to develop a standalone car me thinks. Much easier to pay BMW to re-skin a car they already have. The Toyota Mark X GRMN is the Toyota I would rock.
  2. Hah, apparently the car I am looking at has had that expensive fix done, and interestingly the M5's consumption has gone down since the thermostat was replaced, still thirsty but it can achieve a decent result on the highway now, I even had it reading 9.8l/100km! If anyone wants to grab this for $7k speak up. It's a bargain car for that money.
  3. Haha, I am going for pre-mazda mazer. I must agree the new Maserati cars have lost their flair.
  4. Maserati Granturismo, heh.
  5. 2007 BMW 130i Japanese import (i drive still in Japanese sorry) 86,000km White with terracotta leather 18" M-performance wheels, new tyres Recently serviced including oil, engine air and micro filters, spark plugs No outstanding issues 9/10 condition inside and out Recently clayed and waxed I'm trying to move this along to make room for a new car. It has been a great car for us, giving very little trouble. We have had it since it was at 25000km and it's now up to 86000km. It's a fairly unique colour combo of white with terracotta interior which I think makes it feel a lot classier than your run of the mill white/black combo. It's still in great condition all round as it's a city car that doesn't see a great deal of open roads. Looking for $8k at the moment. Come and grab a tidy and reliable little performance hatch back! Some pics, will update once I can get outside to clean and photo it.
  6. FK510 is the one to get, its new and well reviewed. 452/453 are quite old and have always rated average. Cheap though.
  7. Indeed. And to be honest my E60 and F10 don't feel very expensive anyway. In fact my 130i feels most like a "BMW" in build and quality to me.
  8. Damn right. I have even been toying with the idea of a new Civic Type R. They look like super fun to drive. I also don't so much care about the 1/2 series being FWD. It suits their purpose anyway. Is Ultimate Driving Machine still part of BMWs marketing anyway?
  9. So basically everything in a newer BMW then?
  10. What model, all the 335s seem to be leather?
  11. Yeah I don't think the uplift from 335i to M3 would be worth the extra coin, I wouldn't call it proper special relative to the 335i...
  12. Strange, almost every e9x I have seen is leather. Hardly seen any cloth.

Think of things that would not affect the mechanical operation of the car. You could actually do anything you want if you do it right.

Ugh. Doing the wiper blades yourself isn't going to touch your warranty. Same with the micro filter. $150 for two bits of rubber and two minutes labour is just stupid.

Wiper blade and micro filter cost is retarded, that's the sort of sh*t that gives european cars a bad name. Buy the blades and microfilter overseas and fit them yourself. The rest isn't too bad.

  17. Ah I should have said it was the suspension air bag It went pop and gangster low. Chinese replacements are super cheap, but it would seem the quality is questionable.
  18. Nope, by my workinng it's about 1:1 at 10L/100km, petrol vs diesel when diesel includes RUC. $2.25 for petrol, $1.55 for diesel. If your diesel gets 2L/100km better then diesel is better by between 5-15% Diesel is suited to 2+ Tonne SUVs where petrol use would be over 15L/100km, a diesel can get 10 or under.
  19. N55 is as new as the N57 Our N55 535i can get down to 7L/100km on the open road and averages about 10. Agree the N57 is a little gruntier though. Not going to be a huge cost difference once RUC is added. Depending on budget the F30 328i or F10 528i with the 2.0 turbo could be an option, far newer cars than the E90, and economical. Have seen both at $20k and a few under.
  20. Chinese replacement air bag in the 535i blew up on the way home today. You get what you pay for I guess. I put the best of the two old ones back in to get it back on the road. Now I don't trust the other bag that is in there... The only upside is I am getting pretty fast at swapping out the bags. Battery in my M5 is also toast. Replacing sh*t for no gain is such a drag. Must be time for a Toyota or something.
  21. $400 wheel nuts but manky old center caps? ?
  22. 130i in urban is about 11.5L/100km. My M5 is about 18-19L on the same route. Overall it's about 9-12L/100km, which is worse than my 535i touring which gets 7-11L/100km. I'd go old 130i or newer 116i, maybe even a Nissan Leaf. Still tempted to sell my 130i. $30 grand on a povo BMW isn't an attractive idea to me. https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1865293537.htm?rsqid=8ef907f50ac34f89bf04796781f19a4d
  23. How was the Auto Glym de-stinker? Noticeably less stinky? I am about to change all my cleaning product to Auto Glym after having decent success with their Ultra Deep Shine polish/wax.
