  1. Nice car! You do need a price here for the rules though.
  2. I'm keen to hear how well that works with a proper (i)phone.
  3. Nice 335i mate. More pics!
  4. Hi Alan, welcome to the party! Post some pics of thet E61 mate.
  5. Might be unrelated, but on an e39, if you have two and one bulb dies, you do get a cluster warning. I had this happen this week.
  6. "My BMW made me do it!"
  7. I realize my post above was poorly worded. I mean to say that when we were wronged during a trademe transaction, trademe has gone out of their way to help us rectify things and in one instance, closed the account of the offending party. They certainly can't force someone to sell you something that someone doesn't want to sell to you, and yes, at the end of the day, the worse they can do is close someone's account, but that is no different than any online auction system really and they certainly have an interest in having their site be trustworthy, which in my experience, at least, they succeed at doing.
  8. In my experience, this is correct. When we've had occasion to bring a complaint to trademe, they did act on it to our satisfaction.
  9. If it was an auction, you have a dispute with trademe and you might win. They might then take punitive action against the seller. It is very unlikely the seller will sell to you regardless though, so it's up to you... If it was a classified ad, you have nothing I expect.
  10. fcpeuro will ship, but the cost of shipping will be high for large items. Have you checked out trademe for the various wreckers that part cars out?
  11. You might do better trawling trademe and asking the various wreckers out there...
  12. I think I understand now where the expression "More money than sense" comes from.
  13. After many small issues, not the least of which was a shorn bolt on the housing... The longest oil filter housing gasket replacement in history if finished. In all, I managed to snap the ring connector on my alternator, shear one bolt and drop a reservoir full of power steering fluid on my driveway (and all over my engine bay!) Replaced power steering hoses, reservoir, and oil filter housing gasket and sensors. Only took 2ish weeks.
  14. I was wrong. I went and looked again and they have removed that paid service from their site, since 2011. Thank you for this. I've opted out now.
  15. Carjam actually sells this info... License alone suffices for just about any info you could want from an owner. The system in NZ is a bit simple, this is great for ease of sale, this is also easier for people willing to commit fraud though. The mitigation is the system works pretty well here too, so it's unlikely you'd lose ownership of your car this way.
  16. What gen ULF did you end up getting?
  17. Finally got that oil filter housing removed today! Spent an hour cleaning oil and grime from around where it was and from it. That was all the time I had, so now it's all about putting it all back together before Monday morning!
  18. At times like this... It's sad divorce is so expensive.
  19. The buttons don't mean anything. It needs to have a TCU in the boot next to the DVD/Nav reader.

    Quick rant thread.

Good luck on all counts! I have managed to drag an oil filter housing gasket replacement for over two weeks because kids. They're not even new to me kids anymore!
  21. I ended up buying a key programmer and teaching myself how to do it because I only had one key for the car and didn't want to end up in the situation where I couldn't get in! I have to say, the Toyota example where Armstrong takes in the lion's share of the cost is true here too. AK90+: $50 (note obviously this is multi-use!), blank HU58 diamond key with internals, including transponder: $15, Armstrong key cut service: $75.
  22. Does this not work? Do you have the factory TCU?
