Saw a gorgeous blue e60 m5 driving into the RSA up here. Two child seats in the back. Full daily driver glory.

"Remember Me" not working, and can we please have https?
Gabe79 replied to Gabe79's topic in Forum Help and Support
This software has had some bugs (and features!) around this issue before. I wouldn't be surprised. It's always obnoxious to manage forum software. You want to stay up to date because of security issues, but you end up with as many bugs as fixes sometimes. -
How much did you get for it in the end if you don't mind the question?

"Remember Me" not working, and can we please have https?

It could be max logins per IP, I suppose, but my phone is on 4G and not related to my home IP/devices and it still loses the authentication token. -

If there is any admin around and the issue is lack of technical knowledge, I'd be happy to help. I have experience with linux system administration, web servers/php/apache/forum administration, etc... If we're just missing admins all around... -
The silly ones buy a BMW to fill that spare time with. ?

Yeah, the Amazon reviews talk about them starting semi-trucks and 6L engines. Should be just fine for my needs. Related: My battery seems to have a little drain and I'm fairly sure it's a poorly installed hands-free kit from the previous owner. I'll be hunting how to remove that thing this weekend, but anyone have a good auto electrician, or stereo installer who knows their way around e39s without guesswork on their part?

I have read that since the original post. Thank you for confirming it.

Brilliant. I literally had this in my amazon cart for this week's big order from the US. I'm glad for your post. Thank you!
-
There are some of these for sale on trademe at the moment for ~$100NZD, if you get lucky.
-
That's pretty cool. I love galleries like that, thanks!

AA came and jumped me. The jump pack he carried wouldn't do it either, had to use juice from the truck. I'm seeing some packs on Amazon recommended from the M5 forums in the US and might get one of the beefy ones next time I'm there. Thank you all who posted. The key ignition note seems unrelated.
-
Can you link a good jump pack? How about some good quality leads? SCA for preference. ? The key key ignition error is in the video above. Might be unrelated.

Thanks for the advice. I'll double check both in the morning. Any idea what that ignition lock notice means?

Irony of ironies... got into the e39 this morning to go buy a Nissan Leaf and intending on trading in the Toyota, much to my wife's dismay... No start, no good. I have a battery pack starter, unsure if it's not provided enough juice though. Cables not long enough to connect to both leads in the engine bay. I tried connecting directly to the battery in the boot, that just set off the alarm and caused the error in the thread title. Now the car has zero juice of its own. The battery might be dead, I suppose, but then it should have started when I tried jumping with proper leads from the damn Toyota... Anyway, this is what it looks/sounds like when I turn the key. crank crank, no start. https://photos.app.goo.gl/YnLNwpj4kwxvRCAJ3 EDIT1: Summary: Key turns, engine cranks (cranked, before I killed the battery...) but doesn't start. EDIT2: I haven't driven the car in a few weeks now, if that matters.

I can order whenever, but I'll be shipping from the US next week sometime. I'm doing store and forward, if you send me a list I can order for you. The shipping within the US will be free anyway. I go there once a year, or have someone come about that often. When I go I wouldn't mind bringing a wheel back with me. When someone comes it's a maybe.

I'll be doing an order of small things I can't easily (or cheaply) get here in NZ from the US. I am not opening this up for anything and everything, but if you want some small items from fcpeuro, I'd be happy to add them to my cart and you can pay cost+small portion of shipping. PM me and if it's reasonable, I'll happily accommodate.

At the same time that I miss shooting 35mm slides, I really enjoy that my phone today is about as good as (and arguably much better than, since I carry it everywhere...) my old SLR. What area of IT? I'm in a niche area and even here, the change is astounding. The way computers work today is changing and automation really is about as dramatic as that article makes it out to be, or even worse, in some areas. The sysadmins of old will fare no better than the lawyers of that article.

Don't make me cry.

If the condition is good, the price seems fair. You might end up with a bit less, 4K say, but I'd say you're in the range. I'd love to have this in this price range, but life...
