  1. 105 is wildly optimistic. 75k on a very good day...it's not even a petrol
  2. It's back (probably still wanting his 122k πŸ™„) https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3560093066
  3. I was going to say don't go to Lee European - ended up going through small claims tribunal to get my money back...but they're in liquidation. https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/small-business/100376286/car-dealer-lee-european-punished-for-failing-to-stick-to-settlement-with-former-employee I'd go with Manawatu BMW I think
  4. It's definitely dead. Low tone horn is known to die prematurely (from excessive use maybe?!) on the F3x
  5. Thanks anyway @jon dee - think I'll just have to suck it up and pay someone to do it, with the wheel off I suspect it would be quite straightforward
  6. Very nice colour combo and it's a great engine. 6.1/100 is very impressive, my best tank on a 335d (same engine but 4wd albeit probably 200kg lighter) is 6.8/100 measured brim to brim. the OBC on mine is pretty optimistic, says I'm averaging 6.8 including round town running. It's possible wheels were replaced due to cracking, I think the 20's were prone to it. It would look good on Style 351's in 19" which I imagine would fit fine.
  7. @jon dee I've been trying to do it with liner off / wheel turned (I don't own a jack) - spanner on the nut just seems to bend the bracket which is made of thin aluminium and I think the nut on the new horn is loctited on too
  8. 4wd LHD only in the E36/E46/E9x generation @adz - F3x was the first 3 series since E30 325ix to get it.
  9. I suspect 11-12k for the right buyer would be fair, might be an easier sell with some of the work done? E9x 30d/35d's are reasonably uncommon and a nice blend of performance / economy, sounds like decent specs also.
  10. We should really have the same rules as the UK in that regard @Kees - fine to change registration plate, but it returns to the plate it had on first registration once personalised plate is removed...
  11. I don't think he's gonna get 65k - like his housing portfolio, the market has peaked... Chrome line exterior (Option 346) @Kees - so apart from the black wheels looks fairly original. WInds me up that he put his πŸ’© personalised plate on for 3 months, previously on original 2 letter / 4 number plate.
  12. This is absolutely mental. I buy mine 20k km at a time and I'm due for some more shortly. Actually I'm surprised they haven't fined me already for buying 20k last time at $68/1000 - I've clearly deprived them of $60 of extra tax
  13. Great spot @E28E30 - speed limiter only on this one. Ironic given the later Jap F3x’s often had adaptive cruise. @Sammo it’s not a particularly difficult retrofit, just need to buy the steering wheel buttons and get someone with ISTA to code
  14. That one is nice @Sammo - MPerformance is dealer fit trim only (sill stickers, reasonably impractical front splitter and someone's changed the splash screen on the cluster) - has been in NZ virtually all its life. OEM towbar is a nice selling point. Think the front PDC is aftermarket.
  15. @tmase check the oil change intervals
  16. Adaptive is a rare option - mine has them (UK import) but none of the others that I looked at did. Can always VIN decode (bimmer.work is probably the most accurate IMO)
  17. @qube suspension even more likely to be dead at 100k km on an f25. 1820kg for a 20d model...
  18. $80 I believe, but should be $54 if you buy between late April and late July. The steering is very heavy in sport. I believe you can adjust this
  19. The F10 5 series is a LOT better looking than the F01...
  20. They are solid. certainly better than that Audi she has at the moment 😜 PFL has N47 engine - some stories of timing chain problems so get one with reasonable history. factory intervals are 2 yrs / 33k km - a bit longer than I'm comfortable with. The Jap import ones are all RWD, NZ new 320d's all Xdrive so potentially issues with transfer box around that mileage. Japanese ones virtually all have alcantara interior and rear PDC only so if you want leather it would need to be NZ new or ex-UK. X3 is also sound but worse fuel economy and not as nice to drive. The F3x platform is markedly better for ride quality than the E9x but steering feel is average at best
  21. @GerryAttrick the reason the coding is more expensive for Japanese NBT is that the HDD needs to be reflashed to ECE (Euro) spec, more straightforward to simply change map for UK / Singapore cars.
  22. So much agreement with this. @KwS you can rest easy, Fit drivers are in a totally different league
  23. Me too - still think I'd consider swapping mine for the right 550i. I think the LCI 550i with the N63TU would be worth a punt but I'm not brave enough to run the OG engine in the pre-facelift. N57 in the 530d/535d is a great engine though (not that I'm biased 😏)
  24. Paging any local Bimmersporters who would be happy to help me replace my horn (inside front left wheel arch liner) - happy to reimburse you with beers or $? Have tried to do it with wheel on but access is a bit limited, especially to the bolt holding the horn to the bracket, see attached pic (bracket is held on with a pop rivet so would rather not remove whole bracket). Alternatively any suggestions to free this bolt welcomed...
