I've just seen that 40% off sale on hyperdrive. Tempted to yolo the Laufenns and try them out. Seems way too cheap at $260 for two tyres 🤔

Have RE003s as well. Was recommended Hankooks or Laufenns last time I asked about tyres, will be trying Laufenn LK03 when I replace my fronts

I'd be interested in that list! Changing the cooling system along with the front pulleys and belt, I'd have done nearly everything on the motor 😅

I think $5000 was thrown around last time I asked about it, I presume that's mostly parts costs. Edit: if that was any other colour I'd be making offers to do the exact same thing lol

Msport kit and aero wing certainly do a lot of heavy lifting, it's aged nicely too. I remember seeing the 1 series in Motor magazine at launch, thought it was fugly.

Are they the same gearbox as a 130i? That's nearly double the power /torque you'd be putting through it.

I do too, but if it's got no service history at 180k I'd be assuming the worst and that it needs 2-3k in engine and suspension parts plus whatever high touch parts/headliner /tyres etc need doing. So if you can get into it for 7-8k and finish up 10k - 12k in with a massive refresh, you're winning.

That's cheap if you can get it for 7 or 8k and refresh everything, you'll have a tidy car for 10k. Larger injectors? and clutch done indicates it's had some maintenance done.

Will definitely ride better and be more grippy. Could get new wheels, with a square set up, to reduce under steer if you're on the stock staggered wheels. Selling the old tyres and wheels could help subsidise that. Changing to normal tyres won't fix any body roll issues you're having, thicker sway bars will do that.
