Does anyone have a sander that I can borrow from tomorrow to Christmas? Just need to quicken up the work to make the gift in time for Christmas! Will be used on wood, ideally one that’s able to go from 60-80 grit up to 180+.

The photos are stunning! If I had throwaway money, this would be the ultimate resto project. Always so sad that an iconic car gets to this stage. Cue sad Porsche face I do find it funny that the listing says that “It’s a very complete car”. I think when you step in a car and your foot goes through it, “complete” isn’t the right word.

Initially reminded me of the very ‘laid-back’ M3 seller. Turns out it’s actually the same dude. Makes total sense now. I’m honestly quite surprised he’s not getting hounded on TM. Sold pending payment apparently.

E34 535i - quad round headlights, straight six, more modern comforts, can actually seat more than 2 people (comfortably), say no more E34 540i - same as above but a grunty V8 E30 any spec - gotta keep my hands busy somehow E36 328i - 2dr straight six, can’t go wrong Tie between E46 330ci and E87 130i - on one hand you get a more modern E36, on another all the perks of a hot hatch 🔥 Don't know the other models enough to rate 😂

What a bargain if it does come close to their estimated price! Re the e28 vs e30. Correct me if I’m wrong but I got the impression that e28/e34 parts (2nd hand or new) are harder to source / more expensive than e30 / e36? So it would be harder to restore if you’re not the type to / unable to afford to buy a mint one? I mean that’s why I didn’t opt for one, that and because it’s not a 2 door 😆. Maybe that’s why there’s not much of a market compared to the e30? To be fair though, why does one have to be better than the other? I’d rather appreciate them both in what each car respectively offers. If I can have both or several other cars, I would. To some, sentimental value is worth more than drivability / performance / looks, so then does that mean that they ‘invested’ / own a crap car? Don’t get me wrong, it’s interesting to compare different models but if we’re really just putting performance / numbers as the top goal then both e28 and e30 would be considered lemons compared to a modern day car.

May as well go full psycho and respray it gold if it isn’t already mate. Be the best version of yourself right?

Getting some mad hot wheels vibe with this one. Looks great! I’ll probably get a bit of flak for saying this but for some reason it almost looks as if it should have a big v8 and a hood scoop, or a blower motor.

The fact that the photos used in the listing looks like it was just taken from what he already had in his phone makes your statement so much more plausible 😂. Either that, or he’s a very very ‘laidback’ person.

Oh yeah, I never meant that the pricing was bad, it’s pretty much bang on (not a bargain but not crazy as well). Although, now that I read it back, I can see how it sounds that way. He has a stack of other wheels to sell so watch that space.

Keen to hear how you get along with this @Wade13, I’m thinking about going through the same for my e30. I heard that it has to be welded by someone who’s certified for it to be certifiable on your car. Unsure if that’s true or not though
