e34 525i auto bit of a rough gem,but its got a fresh WOF and will have 3months worth of REG this week. dulfin-grey,good paint on the front half, crappy rear/roof. a light ding in the drivers front fender. engine is sitting on 228K,smooth and no knockie noises. auto is a good one, smooth changes thru every gear. interior is grey cloth, both front seats are past their use-by and have covers. has lowering springs, but front shocks are also alittle past their use-by yes this was Jason H's old car. drove it from Taupo to auckland without any reliablty issues ready to rock around $1400

Got a mitsi Pajero that was bought bout 2 yrs back to tow trailers etc. as it would happen, work for it has dryed up,so much so it's sitting around in the shed too much/long,it has to go. at the time of purchase it had a good going over, fitted new shocks, oem were poked, water pump was done, and cam belt. oil and filter etc. tyres were absolute rubbish and replaced with new x4. alarm with 2 remotes, and had to tow bar modified to sit lower.trailer now sits flat and not angled up to the stars last warrent check, back in may sometime, had a new idler arm for the steering replaced. feb this year the master cylinder was re'cod as it was leaking starts, drives etc 100% details, mitsi pajero, 3L petrol.its not big HP's but tows 2 tonnes at 100kph easy(bit of a run up helps) cloth interior, tidy,no wear marks. built in 1994 with 241,xxx km's.did a car jam thingy and its 2 yrs out of date,it has reg etc its a MANUAL,which must make a difference. awefull jap exhaust has been cut out and a new freeflow setup fitted by Pete at 'papakure mufflers. noticed more mid range after the work was done. engages 4wheel drive, low, high, diff lock etc easily and smoothly the very rear 2 seats have been removed,to load more stuff, but still have 'em and will go with vehicle pics to follow. has a new WOF last month and reg till april next year looking for $3500

i've still got that 3L crank, rods and pistons out of the m54. also 130mm rods and pistons from the m20. .5L is better the .3L. also for boost-i would stick the the iron block myself. more heat and stress on every componant

have heard similar stories from other e39 models. nearly all were the same problem/solution. low/ish oil level. refilling the box is a slowish process and the box needs to be put thru the 'gears' to ensure the oil level stays upto the high mark and not starve the oil pump. others on here might have other opion, but its worked for a couple of folks i know. if you still have issues,i have a 528 box on the shelf, not to dear

Just bought a '86 525e. engine is surplus to requirement. done 400k,and well maintained until the headgasket let go. its the 2.7 block for those in the know. also have a m54b30 crank and rods that fit it.with mods brings it upto 3.1L. from memory a cuttent e30 race car has this setup and is keeping up with and passing m3's on the track $850 for the lot
