  1. I saw that too. Two sold. Awaiting arrival at a cool $2m each. that's pretty amazing for 'lil old NZ. I hope I get to see one.
  2. +1 agreed. well looked after, well serviced and they are actually pretty reasonable to run. Fuel economy quoted in the trademe ad is spot on in my experience too.
  3. Cheers Graham that's very generous of you. Both mine are miniatures & the girl is fixed. They love everyone, especially big dogs, generally follow them around like sheep. I think they like to pretend they are big dogs. Might take u up on that offer one day.
  4. I would most likely be working in Penrose. Wife's location is yet to be determined. We are guessing the newmarket / somewhere area but really don't know.
  5. renting with 2 dogs is added pain x2. Even though they are very clean & very cute & don't wreak anything (except stuffed toys). We see alot of NO Dogs on ads.
  6. We will be doing a couple of wknd's first to get a feel then I think we will rent an apartment for a few weeks first whilst we house hunt. As it's near impossible to do that remotely. I currently live in a nice quiet suburb near the city fringe so something like that would be preferred.
  7. I'd be keen on a subtle little sticker for the back window.
  8. excellent result Glenn. & a good idea.
  9. cheers all. i'll have to make a list of all these suburbs and spend sometime driving around them to get a better feel. At least I have a starting place.
  10. I was thinking that also. Apparently the car was very rarely used. Possibly original tyres. Also Porsche continued to develop tyres for the CGT on the back of customer complaints around it's handling and released and updated version of the Michelin Pilots for the later build cars.
  11. Dave's right. virus's like to hide in there. You need to turn off system restore before you can delete. You only loose you restore points. No biggie.
  12. I think when Walter Rohrl says: "the first car in my life that I drive and I feel scared" Porsche should have listened. A car that's just waiting to kill you. http://jalopnik.com/porsche-that-killed-paul-walker-dangerous-needs-res-1474240192 RIP Paul Walker. By all accounts a genuinely cool dude.
  13. they come as a set. one each side. You only need to buy one lot of this auction.
  14. yup done it. plug & play. I think I actually bought mine from that same guy. still working perfectly. 3 odd years later.
  15. get more details on the spyware and trojan infections. If it can detect them, it has a definition for them. that means a AV lab has identified and will have published details of it online. Sometimes with removal steps or best programs to use to clean. also secondary (online) scan by trendmicro: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/au/
  16. "I have also had booting problems since Monday as well. I've had to reboot a couple of times before it will open after the original "welcome" message" This is concerning. Could be just XP struggling with the extra load of the virus. Could also mean the bootstrap files have been infected. Glenn. First Step. Backup data.
  17. before you run MSSE AV - clean boot (msconfig) it, to stop as many non essential, non MS services & software starting. This will improve you chances of removal.
  18. +1 for what Dave's said. Solid advice. If you can get your AV to identify the infection this is half the battle. As you can then research it & better understand it's capabilities, install locations, reg keys and file names.
  19. Ha. Well I wash my own cars & don't have any kids. yet. but I get what you are saying. I hope we aren't in the first home buyers market but it really depends on what we sell up for. Prob end up in the 1.something M market. But large garage, drive on access & a place for the dogs to be happy is high on the priority list. I don't think auckland will be the place we will eventually settle so where ever we get will have to have a 5 year outlook. which makes it even harder.
  20. stalky, stalk, stalk...... nice car mate, welcome. I'd say; away from running slick tyres on a road car, you are asking for trouble. Soft performance tyres are in most cases still very good, usually half the price and whilst you might not get the cornering G forces of race tyres your oiling system will be able to keep up. I've seen plenty of performance car's breath their last breath after a few hours hard track work on race rubber.
  21. looks like the media has finally picked up the other side of the story http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/news/9470436/Defective-speedo-will-be-no-defence
  22. ill check beachland out. sounds beachy. cheers. yeah yeah. insert jaffa joke here. i'm keeping an open / positive mind. it can't be all bad. I'm sure there's some endearing factors to auckland. I'm sure we will make some new friends and hopefully the weather will be better.
  23. Cheers for the pointers/ advice. Yes will have to make it to a Auckland meet once settled. Yes part of the BP relocate. I think we will be renting for a few months. It's just tough w two dogs. Which is funny as they are cleaner & quieter than any little kids I know !!
  24. thanks nick. need a house with a yard. have two dogs. wife likes to garden. I'm going to miss my 8min $3 bus ride to & from work.
