  3. holey cow. that hairpin. He's powersliding it with only a little throttle....then you can hear him mash it.... thank you. this made my day.
  4. I'd say Corvette still has a ways to go.... ZR1 F12
  5. Majority of hypercars since the McLaren have become heavier and less slippery as they have to meet modern crash & environmental standards.

    F1 - tickets ect?

+1 for Australia. Awesome track and so easy to get to only 5 mins on free trams from the city. Atmosphere is something else, even going out for dinner after. I have been to Monaco on GP week but the closest I got was driving the track the day after due to ridiculous accommodation and tickets. You also don't see alot as most viewing areas only see one corner.

    AMI insurance

it seems everyone has a story positive or negative. I am with AMI. No other insurer would give me the agreed value policy with listed modifications I was after. I had to get the car valued however I wasn't opposed to that. Never had to claim but each year to do the ring around as ask other insurers to at least match AMI's cover. None even come close.
  14. try a high powered GTR.... $5k - gearbox $20k - motor $2.5K - turbos $6k - brakes.... the list is endless.... By comparison my M5 $400 every two years is a dream. Although I always service yearly anyway.
  15. you just missed out that it was a simply awesome event that is missed dearly. Now WCC has developed the waterfront there's no chance of getting it back.

    Brake Dust

I think what you maybe experiencing is just a BMW OEM pad thing. I noticed the same thing and was constantly cleaning my wheels. research showed BMW OEM pads are relatively soft and known for dust. I sourced and fitted a set of AXXIS deluxe pads and dust has been reduced 50% (at least!). Bite & feel at OEM if not slightly better. Highly recommend.

    BBS RM staggered

makes me want to buy a VW just to have wheels like this in my life
  18. I think you are both on the same page. Always use the factory steel lines, replace only if damaged. Use quality steel braided lines where the OEM uses flexible rubber...ie between the caliper and the body on each corner. I for one have been a near victim of aftermarket "steel" brake lines that had a plastic outer coat and were incorrectly sized. They rubbed on the inner wheel rim....just before a drive on SH1 to taupo I luckily gave the middle pedal a heavy push, felt the pop and the pedal when to the floor. No brakes what so ever. Scary since I was about 10 mins from hitting the open road.
  19. did you see the roll at the end? man....
  20. based on this thread I checked out Meguiar's Ultimate Protectant $30 odd from supercheap. I must say I am happy with the results...no dramatic change since my trim wasn't bad it was just in need of some attention in some spots. Pretty happy. On the other end. The racecar (GTR) front lip spoiler was in dire straights. For that I bought some matt black bumper colour spray paint from repco. Wasn't sure how it would come out but have to say I'm surprised. It looks really good! Even covered some road rash.
  21. could anyone in the know chime in if these handbrake button's are a WOF issue? (the ones you can set to not lock) http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-443017585.htm
  22. rare with a towbar! '99 missing the facelift goodies but probably still a solid car. Saw it at HD as well. There were more M5's in the carpark than inside the track.
  23. X2 M5's. 60 odd + highway km's. Never had to use the M mobility unit. touch wood.Modern tyre design these days is pretty good. You'd have to hit something serious or have previous damage to have a blowout from a low profile tyre.
