  1. Is this lic plate PS1200 or something similar? I recall this lic plate number was/is owned by a member here? if they are, wonder if they will part with it, oneday, if it just sits ?
  2. Buy a rolla. Believe me. Buy a rolla. Been there, done that...
  3. Yesterday as I went for a cruise in the Monaro, first an Aston Martin DB9 in silver and then 15 minutes later an... I8 in white. Both were very niiiice. Very rare here in Porirua ?
  4. Friggin awesome I reckon! Although Doug is pretty annoying, there's no denying the M5 is on a whole different level...
  5. Spotted while travelling down a side street in Parramatta, Sydney on Sunday afternoon... Genuine? Kit car? Couldn't quite tell - I'm guessing genuine? Check out the side-by-side with the truck ?
  6. Cheers, This is good to know for future reference
  7. Congrats on the positive outcome: http://www.nzlii.org/nz/cases/NZMVDT/2018/79.html Can I be banned from my own post? ? Just kidding and genuinely sincere in my congratulations - a great outcome!
  8. This one or the written off and repaired one? ... This one thanks I bet this ones drives tight too
  9. Hmmm haven't bought a car from them in a while . @SmithyInWelly do it!
  10. Sounds like you're going through the right steps. When I had my E60 I got all sorts of dings and dongs (including going into limp mode) and a multitude of codes. First thing was a battery replacement but issues persisted. Codes cleared by a specialist garage who finally diagnosed a faulty positive battery cable (the one in the boot to battery). Replaced and viola, dings and dongs gone. Hence original post your issue sounded familiar. Hope you get it sorted! Sorry also - just re-read the title of the post - doh!
  11. Positive battery cable? Apparently a common issue with the E60, not sure if diesel models is an exception though... also assuming that your 530d is e60 model...
  12. I think you're right! what an awesome example
  13. This afternoon, along the Tawa straight heading south (whilst I was travelling north) I caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye and which I'm am absolutely sure was a... DMC De Lorean! That unmistakable shape and stainless steel body gave it away. Now that is something you don't see everyday here in lil ol' NZ . Last one I saw being driven on the road and not on display in Southwards was about 30 years ago! And ironically it was the same stretch of SH!
  14. Hope it all works out on all fronts. Was in a similar position last year with the house buying and not getting screwed thing. Believe me it will all fall into place and you will get a e39 touring. It just may take a little longer for the dust to settle!
  15. In all seriousness now though. I think that 530i Touring would be a great alternative, and addition to your Leaf. You're already familiar with the e39 530i. You have the knowledge, experience and ability to work on these. And it is probably super practical for how you intend to use it. A bit like the reasons I got that ugly thing (sorry had to throw that one in lol). Hence one of the reasons I'm keeping my Avalanche wagon - after four years nothing comes close to it for the purpose I need it for. Hope it works out for you!
  16. OK its on! Did you know the three Holden's I now own are, and will be, appreciating faster (regardless of how ugly they are) than an EV? Did you know that one in particular has 'appreciated' by over 3x its purchase price in the 18 months and is not slowing down? And that's just one of them! Not only that but... How many times have you driven your - sorry your wife driven her - Leaf and other drivers pull along side, wind down their window and yell out things like - "Sweat ride!', 'Niiiiice!', 'sounds mean bro!', 'Is it for sale?!'"? How many times do you - sorry, your wife - get approached by enthusiasts wanting to know more about your - sorry, her - Leaf? I think we mutually agree that I drive an ugly thing. However, I'd never make my wife drive something fugly. Like a Leaf . Some friendly advice - just buy what ever you feel like, e65, e39, Tesla, Prius or whatever (actually it really doesn't matter what you fancy), and your wife will drive it. Eventually. It is probably better than the alternative! Of course this reply is totally in jest and no offence is intended!
  17. I wish . Unfortunately I get blisters from doing any 'labour intensive' activities' . Main reason for getting the crewman is the need to cart fishing/dive equipment, transport the vast catch home and do the 'green waste' ie gorse tip run. Also wanted the convenience of four doors with the practicality of a tray with canopy. And I didn't want a Colorado/Ranger cos everyone has one of those haha. The X5 is/was awesome but after doing close to a 3K km trip over NY it was becoming obvious that it was not the type of wagon we needed. Would get another in a heartbeat though! Hard getting used to this V6 thing...
  18. Not quite as that would be too sensible as well haha. Went for something a bit more 'practical' and I got this (even with the stupid wheels - but I have a plan for those). And I'm not even a tradie!
  19. Technically not today but, traded it on something a little mid-life crisis-ish... and no its not a leaf . So now BMW-less for the while

    car cleanning

Biggest cleaning fail... too busy driving them rather than cleaning them
  21. @aja540i Great to deal with and easy communication. Although I bought something small was given postage options and was sent promptly. Awesome to deal with a top quality member! Cheers.
  22. Bargain of the year - possibly the decade, maybe the century! Scored a passenger side mirror for the X5 - everything including the glass - and all genuine!! Arrived today and bought off Trade Me for $12 (was a $1 reserve) plus postage of $20. So that's $32 all up! Original invoice in the box says this whole package was.... $2086!!! And that's just for one side! Thank you insurance write-offs. Thank you!
  23. towbars on an Audi RS and M car make more sense than one on a Leaf. Or any other electric car for that matter . Maybe its to tow their electric trailer or electric caravan or electric boat or electric... . I wonder how long it took to recharge in Whakatane after running out in Matata to allow the owner to return back to homebase? In fact how many charges were required for the round trip? Which makes me wonder - how many charges are required to say go on a 3000km summer road trip? In fact, how many weeks more than the few days it takes in a combustion engine type vehicle will it take to travel that distance? Does the charge frequency increase and range decrease when towing the electric trailer? At least you'll be emitting 50% less of whatever the name of this thread is And please don't take this post too seriously folks
