Even more reason to just suck it up ?
-
Just curious - what has this got to do with anything and whats the point of this comment? Other than an attempt at humour?
-
This. It was not that long ago ‘the community’ was ripping into dealers who were doing the exact same thing. Remember the E36 M3’s? So other than hypocrisy, whats the difference here? Nothing wrong with people wanting to make a quick buck, but please, lets not be two-faced about it ?

Oh and keep the updates coming!

++1! If the carpets are damp, then the foam is probably soaked and holding water (they are pretty well insulated with thick foam). Also, if water has been getting in, especially over an extended period of time, then it is more than likely that both the rear and front carpets will be soaked. Good news is that the rear carpet can be lifted/exposed pretty easily and then the de-soaking and drying process can begin. Bad news is, its a bit harder to lift the front carpets without seats, middle console and trim being removed. If you have the storage/garage space and start that process then it probably makes sense for a 'carpet out job'. Then air dry them over several days. Lucky its the season for it ?. And you really don't want to pay someone to do it...

Sad to see you going Holden. Sorry I'm going to change the tone a little bit. Time for a childhood Holden story... Growing up in Wellington, our family Xmas/New Year holidays were spent at my grandparents house in Whakatane. This is where I have many fond memories of time spent traveling from Whakatane to Torere and back with my Grandad in the late 70's/early 80's in his immaculate light blue EH wagon (Special I think it was). This thing was so pristine you wouldn't even fart in it. And I remember being too scared to eat anything in it as it was that clean and Grandad had that knack of knowing everything that was going on in his car! Granddad would even drive like a grandad, but that made the trip even more memorable. Now Grandad was a tough b#stard from the old school, but man the pride and emotion he had when he drove and spoke about his 'Special' was just awesome! Jump forward 30+ (opps make that 40+) years and I'm glad I decided a couple of years ago to keep my HSV Avalanche, forever! ? Thank you Grandad. Holden - its in the blood!

If I said that to mine, the reply would be - no you're not buying it! Which I would promptly respond - too late! haha ?. Great purchase for whomever has bought it!
-
Im surprised it lasted as long as it did with that buy now ?

All good. Look forward to seeing Silver Titan at a catch-up sometime soon. Have a good one!

Awesome @BozzaFC! Will you be taking it to the British & Euro show this coming Sunday?
-
Bugger ☹️ Hope they are sorting it at their expense. Without naming is this a dealership who did the work? timely reminder for me as mine is going to local dealership tomorrow for a minor issue. I will be asking them to be very careful not to damage anything when they are working on it. And din’t let the apprentice near it ?. These are becoming classics so care is needed! Hope it all gets sorted!

Good point @M3AN. Privacy and confidentiality often do get confused and used interchangeably. Although I'm not completely sold on the 'confidentiality' aspect in this context. I like this summation of the two: We often use the terms "confidentiality" and"privacy" interchangeably in our everyday lives. ... On the other hand, privacy refers to the freedom from intrusion into one's personal matters, and personal information. While confidentiality is an ethical duty, privacy is a right rooted in common law. Trying to relate it back to the OP - if someone was seriously interested in this M3 then I would hope that they conduct due diligence that satisfies them. This may, or may not include comments and information made here. And lets all be honest here, most of us are not serious buyers, but would like to know all the 'dirty detail' on it ?. IMO $15k + $7-8k to sort and you have a pretty reasonably priced appreciating classic - there you go I said it ? (yes I have an ulterior motive haha)
-
So cool and you wont be wiping those smiles off your faces! congrats!
-
Well said @Gaz ?
-
It is all about privacy... whether we like it or not ?

Agree - and it is probably better than most new cars in 2020! I was thinking of heading over to have a look, it was a pretty good day last year. Will keep it in mind to tag along, it just may depend if mine is fit for display on the day, for me anyway (just booked in for a couple if minor things to get sorted). Either way will see you then ? now back the the OP ?

Nice work! It will be better than a new car when its done! Tough choice what to show at the upcoming British and European day aye ? (that's presuming that the BMW club will be in attendance).
-
As they say - $9.650 is not a lot of money for a hell of a lot of car ( or something to that effect)! X6’s are so uygly they are cool! ?

Living with sensible(?) vehicles - E53 V8 and E60 M5...
treone replied to TermiPeteNZ's topic in Showroom
Bugger about the tints @TermiPeteNZ ?. I thought they were factory too. Pretty crazy that after many years of attaining WoF's it hasn't been an issue until now. I've used Window Magic a couple of times to do previous BMW's - Greg is very good at what he does (not just cos he's got a cool name haha). In fact, reminds me I need to book in to get mine done. I think rod bearings is probably a good investment, as I agree, the E60 M5 is a special car ?. Good luck mate, it will all work out! -
Im in agreement with the above. Therefore when you include financing (regardless of which financing option people use) into the equation, and lets be honest, this is what most nzers use to purchase ‘major’ items, then price becomes irrelevant. Whether we like it or not what the dealer has done is not uncommon these days. And not just dealers as alluded to above. Therefore, we have a choice, either participate or not. I think most of us have chosen to ‘not’ In this instance ??

Oops, sorry I should've put it out there in general. So will give @BozzaFC first option by 8pm today ?, if not then happy for you to have it @adro. Hoping that is fair compromise? Sorry - should say that it is a generic sedan/touring e39 owners manual covering models from 525i to 540i. Early 2000's print from memory.

@BozzaFC does it have the all important owners manual accessory? if not I have one if you want it. Funny what you find after a clear out...
